With layoffs at Xbox, sources indicate accessibility efforts have also been affected. What was once a champion of accessibility is now a shell of its former self, unsure if accessibility even has a place at the new Xbox. Read my first report for @aftermath.site here: aftermath.site/xbox-layoffs...
Layoffs Leave The Future Of Xbox’s Award-Winning Accessibility Efforts In Doubt
Former workers say Xbox cuts leave less resources and experts to make sure games are developed, labelled, and tested with accessibility in mind

My oldest daughter has spent most of the past year asking if she could see The Backrooms when it came out. I went to see it in advance with my wife, and after some consideration, we decided to say yes. (Spoiler: She had a blast) www.crossplay.news/p/taking-a-k...

"LLMs are too ethically murky to include in scientific publishing. A main concern lies in the way LLMs work: by trawling Internet content without concern for bias, consent or copyright, says Iris van Rooij, a cognitive scientist at Radboud University …” www.nature.com/articles/d41... 1/2
I've noticed people have more or less stopped talking about Sektori. I'd prefer if we kept talking about Sektori, actually.

Well, this is a MAJOR blow to accessibility. Fortnite has nerfed the Visual Audio wheel, which was designed for deaf and hard-of-hearing players. It makes the game almost unplayable for those players. Plus it helped a ton of other disabled players, including myself www.linkedin.com/posts/cdspow...

God, it looks like a LOT of Accessibility specialists were hit by today's layoffs at Xbox, inclusing some of their most senior accessibility folks. This feels like a REALLY bad sign for accessibility at Xbox going forward. A huge amount of skilled talent being thrown out as part of this "shake up".
Oh my god, it has actual audio descriptions of the narrative visuals for the minigames, like Bits and Bops! This is a huge moment for a first party Nintendo game!
