Perfect timing, map projection lecture is this coming week, will demo this in my grad class. I love that I can make the projection point wrap around from positive to negative infinity. Just the right companion to the philogb.github.io/page/myriahe... demo that goes with the paper they're reading.

Haven't had time to check out cool new technology recently, but decided to try parquet and DuckDB-WASM for cheap interactive Canada-wide dot-density maps. This is running in the browser backed by remote hosted parquet. Still lots of room for improvement, but this already works quite well.

Students made their first minicomics in my intro making course - mostly standard format but this student, a first time maker(!), did something so off the charts I’m still reeling from it! & he made like 12 of them for his classmates! A paper engineering feat of flipbookery as well as killer drawing!
