Ed Miliband’s parents survived the Holocaust, Ed Miliband is Jewish - that is immutable Questioning his Jewishness like this tells you all you need to know about people like this, and what their values are - and what they truly think about Jewish people that don’t behave how they want them to

Coyote vs. ACME was vastly better than The Odyssey; don't @ me.
Yes, we apologize all the time, we also put mayonnaise on everything. Many Canadian economist types are characterizing the Dem vs. Republican messaging on Canada as a game of "good cop bad cop" but the good cop is being super cringe here.
Abdul El-Sayed: “Canadians are like the only people in the world who are going to preemptively apologize for something they didn't even do. So if you're starting a trade war with Canada, it's because you're the asshole.”

Several weeks ago, I made a brief LinkedIn post about the Jason Arday matter.

Don’t see any way in which the entire incident isn’t massively discrediting to the UK libel law regime, which successfully prevented legitimate reporting by Times Higher Ed, allowing the story to be broke and the framing of it set by a offshore race science substacker with a grudge.
It is true that Arday’s various lies should have been a niche story and not the subject of an intense media mobbing. But also he shut down attempts at investigation by *reporting them to the police for racism* and employing one of the UK’s most infamous and aggressive lawyers.

Cambridge University should have known better, Fleet Street should have known better, the people hungrily absorbing every bit of news about it, making newsrooms feel like they had to keep going with it as a story, should have known better, horrible horrible horrible
the concern with the Arday story isn’t the fact of the media coverage, it’s the volume. it’s perfectly reasonable that there would be some coverage of the story, and basically indefensible that there was as much as there was.
The alternative to this is people lying with impunity, with the media knowingly covering it up. It's an awful story. And the media will get a lot of the blame. But those who perpetuated the lies and shielded Arday from facing up to them deserve more of it.
The next VCF Montreal has an impressive guest list, ngl.
The movie would have Bob Roberts perform a folksy conservative tune about welfare freeloaders and then a character would come on and say “don’t you see? He’s co-opting the protest movements of the sixties to advance conservatism” yes I’m watching the movie, I got what you were saying!
It was such a good idea for a satire (a right wing Bob Dylan) but the movie was too timid to trust that we understood the point. The only part I liked unreservedly was how much contempt they showed towards Saturday Night Live’s role to play in manufacturing consent
Feeling vindicated for not liking BOB ROBERTS in 1992 www.foxnews.com/entertainmen...
Tim Robbins turns to ayahuasca after feeling 'consumed by anger' over cancel culture
Tim Robbins tells Joe Rogan how an ayahuasca ceremony helped him release years of frustration over cancel culture and political polarization.

Mitch McConnell being absent and safe-R seat being empty is a GOOD thing I feel like I’m losing my mind here with people furious at Andy Beshear
People in J Pod's high school would have known about his dad's writings and I bet this rejection actually did happen contrary to the comments in the quoted thread.

I couldn't care less about TB's share price, my guy. What I DO care about is a serious problem in public health. Nobody wants to cooperate with authorities to find where outbreaks came from! Because the person/company/country that's the most helpful & finds the problem? ALWAYS GETS BLAMED FOR IT.
Since there's an ongoing all-of-society effort to protect Taco Bell's share price I am forced to ask, "REALLY GOOD" relative to what or whom? Which fast good company are you pretending to shame about their lack of product tracing acumen?
His campaign literally pushed these memes until they backfired spectacularly.
It’s possible to condemn the sexist pieces of shit that have been relentless online (on Twitter in particular) without the second paragraph rambling about how she’s owned by a mysterious cabal of special interests.

Okay so there are a small handful of potential reasons why he isn't rushing to throw Katz overboard and I'm being very serious when I say the one that makes Mamdani look *best* is that he's a deeply poor judge of character and stupid as fuck.
Mamdani: "I will continue to work with Morris Katz. He remains a top adviser of mine."
Watching the video on social media of the Bison throwing that gramps in the air and thinking "this is why you don't mess with the animals" is me at my most boomer coded.
Two things can be true at once: -Lindsey Graham completely prostrated himself in the service of Donald Trump and abandoned many of his values. -Whoever replaces him is going to be a MUCH bigger Trump acolyte who will be more isolationist and not support Ukraine www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...
Here’s how Lindsey Graham’s Senate seat will be filled
Graham stayed in the Senate for almost 24 years, meaning the race to replace him risks becoming a chaotic primary

My hot take is that Lindsey Graham did many contemptible things but if you’re furious that his Senate Democratic colleagues are posting nice things about him today you need to put down your phone, get some fresh air, and remember a time when a colleague you disliked departed this mortal coil.
There were lots of methodological problems with Wissenschaft des Judentums as a discipline - Gershom Scholem made some of the most incisive critiques - but I do not think it is fair to judge it as a complete failure because Nazism emerged. By that standard, every movement failed - even Zionism.
This is the only thing that should remain named for him; it's totally appropriate for Palm Beach.
Palm Beach International Airport is now named for President Trump
Joe Rogan: you know I heard... I heard that uh if you feed a dog cat food it will turn into a cat. Like a big dog sized cat. Guest you vaguely recognize as a standup comic whose bit is being stupid: Joe I don't believe that is correct.
In case you missed it, here's Count Binface's appearance on the BBC this morning.
For bonus points, they could explain why exactly they believe that their outcomes would have been so much different than those experienced by real life autistic people who actually did live through those interventions and treatments.
