Hey Portlanders/Willamette Valley-dwellers: Your phone may say that the AQI is okay except for sensitive folks, but the PM2.5 readings are >10x what’s deemed safe by the WHO. If you have to go outside, please wear an N95 or equivalent! I’m not seeing much masking out there and it worries me :/

I know people are tired and overworked, but I feel like oftentimes they’re offloading a creative (and, on some level, rewarding) activity to free up time that they’ll ultimately spend scrolling on their phones—thereby further reducing their brains to mush. it’s a vicious cycle of meaninglessness

Portland-area folks, and those beyond: is it just me or is everyone a much worse driver than they were pre-pandemic? I see so much more impatient, reckless, dangerous, and furious behavior than ever before. It frustrates me so much.

Lately I find myself playing piano all the time — an average of an hour a day, if not more. I'm finally back up to my peak in high school, if not a bit beyond. It's such a nice feeling: to find something I love doing, that I could spend the rest of my life on and always improve at but never master.

I get the feeling we’re about to enter a new era for old video games. AI has ruined the high-end market for years, and younger people seem very interested in finding old hidden gems from the past, similar to how my generation approaches movies and records. Anyway. Crossing my fingers.

@councilortkl.bsky.social took a real risk when she refused to sign onto that February letter. Her convictions — and courage — served to completely transform the political landscape on this issue: where the billionaire held all the power, Portland now holds the power.

Thank you for laying it out so clearly, @councilortkl.bsky.social. Mayor Wilson and everyone who has been conspiring to give our money away to this man without even a pretense of negotiation should be deeply embarrassed. www.portlandmercury.com/opinion/opin...

I just gave $20 to help get Jamey onto Portland city council and bolster the progressive wing. With seven progressive votes, we don’t have to worry about conservatives calling the mayor in when they’re grumpy about how a vote is going. If you live in Portland, any donation amount is very impactful!

@pnwpolicyangel.bsky.social demonstrates once again why the progressives on council are the real collaborators and fiscally responsible reps Portland deserves. We need to expand the progressive table to never again allow the mayor to put his thumb on the scale. #breakthedeadlock #voteevenstar4d4

Yeah I’m gonna need yall got get me a 7th vote. I think that vote is Jamey, give her a follow, donate, volunteer. If you want a progressive council every day till November counts and everything you do or don’t do shapes that too.

I’ve completed all of the Deltarune that’s available and I am losing my mind having nobody to talk to about it 😵‍💫 Well, there is a lot here.

I saw a teenager wearing an Alkaline Trio shirt the other day and I was so confused. Are they still popular with the youth?? (That was my very first “real” concert in 2003 or so!)

At this point there’s absolutely no way that my end-of-year Apple Music summary isn’t just dominated by “Flower Man”
