If you're in fandom, please engage with the fics you read, the art you view. You don't have to read/scroll everything, but if you *do* read/see it, please let the creators know. I am seeing so many people burn out because engagement keeps dropping. It feels like tapping the mic - 'is this thing on?'

a lot of the praise for FF7 in retrospect has an amusing focus on the superficial technical prowess of the game, so many MOVES, so many minutes of VIDEO, THREE discs?? it's gotta be ten outta ten, da greatest of games and then you play it in 2026 and it really is actually that good.

it's funny that they said something as ridiculous and hyperbolic as "this is the one by which all other rpgs will be judged" entirely too early into FF7's cultural lifecycle and then they were, for the most part, basically correct. that did happen.
