If you had to guess which club had a player running round with medieval weaponry, the horse-punchers would always be a good bet.
Amar Dedic set to escape Newcastle sanction over carrying bow and arrow
Very interesting thread on how and why this took so long. Important to understand two big constraints on victims speaking out here, alongside the embarrassment & vulnerability many feel: the threat of ruinous legal action, & a bro culture which exists in some form on the left as well as the right.
Let me tell you about Russell Brand, as someone who helped the journalists who eventually exposed him. In 2013/4, Brand started to become interested in progressive politics. He said progressive things publicly, went on Newsnight etc. At the time I was involved in progressive grassroots work myself.
Andrew Sachs looking down from heaven, giggling, "He's behind bars alone-ah." Everyone gets their comeuppance...

“The product would allow paying subscribers to use AI to create their own versions of popular songs, such as transforming a folk song into a dance track or making one artist appear to cover another’s music.”
Fairly sure that in these days of text recognition, AI and, y'know, people being able to read, posting your text as a picture is probably not a sure-fire way to prevent your enemies hearing what you have to say.
As a kid who saw the original(s) when released, I walked into PM w/much hope; and, while I can't say I was completely disappointed, the hate for it from most was immediate and widespread. 10 yr old Jake Lloyd was thrown to the wolves and torn apart. I still think Roger Ebert's review said it best -

The late great "Seething" Steven Wells wrote a review of a Rage Against The Machine gig in the 90s where he described how all the very expensive merch sold out within an hour and there was an entire crowd in £25 RATM t-shirts all singing along "fuck you I won't do what you tell me"...

If there is a God, can He send a flood again? I'd quite like a go at ark building.
Voters who Googled how to donate to Talarico got an AI answer that led them to give to a different senator. A network of fake news websites seeded messaging about state & local candidates that AI answers picked up on. My story on how the AI midterms are going: www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...
I saw a screenshot of this and had to go and check if it was real. How can you be the BBC’s cyber correspondent and not have heard of PHP before yesterday? *And* now be talking confidently about it on the news. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/ck...

Obsessed with Damascus goats lately. They look like they were created by H. R. Giger. They both looks and sound stupid as hell. An utter catastrophe of an animal. I love them.
