A nobody, a neighbor. Public service message: If you don’t pronounce the T in “soften” or “listen,” you shouldn’t pronounce it in “often,” and you definitely shouldn’t act self-satisfied while doing it. It does not actually make you sound posh or elite.

Periodic reminder that Chrome is bad software. It's a personal data collector cosplaying as a web browser. Use other browsers, my personal recommendations are Safari (if you're on a Mac) and Vivaldi (works anywhere). Orion is worth a look too (no Windows version yet).

Odd how we keep allowing Trump to be president when, according to experts on Bluesky, we all have standing to sue him for various crimes, and Minnesota can send cops to arrest him no matter what the laws say. (Will the people coming up with these brainy schemes vote? Reply hazy; ask again later.)

Be it known: The reason young people want to live in Seattle rather than Cleveland is because they saw people doing it in movies. It has nothing to do with scenery, jobs/salaries, quality of life, or relatively liberal policies on issues that, for some, are literally a matter of life and death.

Home prices in most of America are highly affordable. Take Cleveland, Ohio for example. Problem is too many young people want to live in LA, SF, Seattle, Boston, New York etc. Places people live in movies and TV shows. www.zillow.com/homedetails/...

Posting this now so I can pretend to be psychic when it turns out in a couple of months that 40-70% of the men arrested for 'protesting' in Thetford were wife beaters, rapists and/or nonces

“Why won’t they integrate?” Also…”let’s not let them integrate!” The right wing views foreigners only as a tax paying sub species, here to serve the white “indigenous” population. They’re never seen as people, families, neighbours, never talked about with dignity or respect. It is disgusting.

‘Listening’ to ‘legitimate concerns’ is what led us to violent riots in Thetford. Embracing flag-shagging is what inspires lynch mobs. These are the worst of people, and we should have said so clearly and loudly from the start. We should be saying it now.

“We need data centers to stay ahead of China” seems to be a common belief of AI supporters. Why can’t we ever want to stay “ahead of China” when it comes to high-speed rail or EVs or low cost of living or public safety?

This is a triggering image of a museum display in the natural history museum in DC about life before smartphones. Me and a fellow 40+ person were laughing at how we are now LITERAL MUSEUM PIECES. MY teen was like did you have a clear phone? An address book? A book of maps. Yes, yes I did. 🫠🫠🫠

Trans panic is inherently unjust and idiotic in itself, of course, but it also empowers the creepiest people on Earth to conduct impromptu gender inspections whenever the urge strikes them. Everyone who is OK with this needs to restrict their search for perverts to the nearest mirror.

This server didn’t specifically ask her to show her breasts, but the server kept badgering her to prove that she was a woman even after she told her she was. On top of that, Minnesota doesn’t have a trans people using public restrooms ban.

Guess what? Meta now claims their AI "escaped" and "hacked" another company too. This is their new sales pitch: Our AI is sooo "autonomous" that it "hacks" companies on its own. For years they claimed their AIs are "near" conscious, but since that BS doesn't work anymore, this is the new BS.

I don’t want to Do mY OwN rEsearCh. I want really clever researchers to do the research because that’s what they are good at and correctly advise politicians and people in power to make the right decisions for the benefit of all of us. I’ll bring snacks.

Listening to my generation talk about the 90s the way the previous generation talked about the 70s is tiresome. No that wasnt 'back when movies were good' or 'music still meant something'. There's loads of great shit coming out now and there was loads of slop back then. You just miss being young.
