Still can’t believe they rolled a severely brain-damaged 84-year-old out of his 92-day-long paid medical leave just to vote against paid medical leave for every other American
In victory over Mike Rush, Persis Yu even won his ward www.universalhub.com/2026/victory... #Boston #Roslindale #HydePark #WestRoxbury #elections2026 H/t @mdmcclos.bsky.social
Persis Yu is up by 500 votes. Mail in ballots aren’t in and results are unofficial, but looks like she’s actually won.
Laughable Mike Rush mailer came. It touts lots of funding for the suburbs and exactly nothing for his Boston constituents (unless you count the very well-appointed Little League complex that makes the girls’ softball fields look like the Sandlot on comparison. Paid for by the MA Realtors PAC
You can argue about whether or not a lawn sign is conservative-coded, but do you know what is undeniably reactionary? Voting against teaching medically accurate sex ed in schools, voting against criminal justice reform, voting against police reform, and voting against expanded abortion access.
Lynch digging for gold in his past record 😅 Laken Riley Act wants a word. Only D in fed delegation to vote for it. @patrickroath.bsky.social got him on his back foot just now with an immigration reform question en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laken_R...

It’s time for mainstream press to come to terms with the fact that these are concentration camps and when people die inside them, it’s because they are functioning as intended. Abolish ICE is the floor. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/13/n...
Deaths of 3 ICE Detainees Prompt Questions About Medical Care (Gift Article)
Immigrants at Delaney Hall in Newark have complained about health services. Federal officials defended the treatment provided there and elsewhere.

ICE arrested more than 43,000 people in July, a rate that didn’t slow even as the federal agency came under scrutiny for killing two people in the span of six days. July’s figure is the highest monthly total under the second Trump administration.

On a private call, Todd Blanche said his goal was to make the "Dobbs decision permanent in every single state." This isn’t just a confirmation vote anymore—it’s a roll-call vote on which Senators endorse BANNING abortion in ALL 50 states. I’m voting NO.
@universalhub.com no power and lots of helicopters overhead in the Bellevue Hill area of West Roxbury. Anyone know what’s up?
In last night's Senate debate, when Seth Moulton was asked about his past comments scapegoating trans youth and whether he believed Israel has committed war crimes in Gaza, his evasions were telling.
Trump refuses to get off the stage as Spain raises the trophy. Because of course he does. 🤦🏼
The documents Trump cited don't even make his case - and actually refute much of it. But that didn'tg matter. No foreign regime, no spies, no saboteurs have yet matched the damage that America’s own president just did tonight to faith in U.S. elections. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
Trump Just Did More Damage to Elections Than China
His speech was a mashup of charges that aren’t supported by the documents he released.

Trump mentioned Maduro tonight as part of his election conspiracies. I stand by my prediction that he is going to make a deal with Maduro where he will say Venezuela was part of a conspiracy with China to rig 2020 in the US. That line tonight was another step to that happening.
Thank god mitch mcconnell isn’t alive to see any of this
This world just isn’t organized well for those of us who don’t like to work
Guaranteed: 1) Black girls will be harassed and demanded to be tested over and over again regardless of how competitive they are. 2) Winners from public schools will be relentlessly hounded by the parents and coaches of losers at private schools, with the goal of making them quit the sport.
The ban is heinous for what it does to transgender athletes. But if you think cisgender girls and young women won’t be caught up in the fallout, too, you are woefully ignorant
This country was one person's vote away this morning from putting any birthright citizen in danger of being deported tomorrow. We are so much closer to the abyss than we think. Man oh man.
This birthright ruling is why I just refuse to tolerate all the Democrat garment rending over NY voters choosing progressive candidates. They are incapable of governing in this moment. The politics of appeasement and centrism gets us to a 5-4 decision on the constitutional question.
I now fervently believe this. Relatedly, I think celebrating good news and embracing joy are equally radical. You have to remember what you’re fighting for. We cannot sustainably organize around sorrow.
I’m coming to understand that maintaining hope is radical.
I know the list is endless but I genuinely think trashing the legitimate congressionally chartered org for celebrating the 250th to instead hijack our national assets and taxpayer funds for his personality cult grifter crap should, in and of itself, be fully sufficient to merit removal from office.
On a train from Stockholm airport to central station. It is going 160kmph. It takes 18 minutes and is utterly seamless. We could have this.
The reflecting pool is just a metaphor for the Iran war.
On our very first Pride Night in 2013, Jason Collins threw out the first pitch. Tonight his brother, Jarron, honors him.
This really is a bold new frontier of propaganda. "It may look like we lost the war and are sending billions of dollars to our enemy while letting it newly secure control the world's most strategic seaway and getting nothing in return. However, in the SECRET deal, we actually won the war!"
“What’s more important than the actual document is the understandings we have with each other. We came up with language that allows Iran to say what they need to say for their domestic politics.”-CNN
