Mary Tyler and will be @opennews.bsky.social’s with a workshop on how to work with folks to get them the answers they wanted, not just the ones they asked for.

We can't list everything wrong with this lawsuit but here's one: Patel says The Atlantic should have filed FOIAs before reporting. The FBI’s average FOIA response time is two years.
FBI director Kash Patel sued @theatlantic.com and reporter @sfifz787.bsky.social in federal court today for allegedly defaming him in an article that quotes sources calling his excessive drinking and unexplained absences from office a national security vulnerability.
Perhaps the most incredible stat of the PWHL season. The Montreal Victoire ended their home schedule with 2 shorthanded goals. And only one power play goal allowed. Yes, at home this season (including Takeover Tour games) their penalty kill has a goal differential of +1 #PWHL
I love moments like this. Guy doing a trick he's never landed before, cause, what the hell, it's the Olympics, then stunned he actually landed it.
Safe to say, Valentino Guseli was definitely stoked after this jump.
Mamdani has only been Mayor for a day & criminals are already fleeing New York
Per NY Times’s Michael Grynbaum on X, this is Sharyn Alfonsi’s email to her “60 Minutes” colleagues in full:
As a card-carrying old lady yelling at clouds on the topic of public wi-fi (and not scaring people about it), excited to see it at the top of this very good list.
As a security person, I SO appreciate great bits like this open letter around bad security advice ( www.hacklore.org/letter), especially given that it's got reputable people like @leak.bsky.social signed on. I agree that outdated advice and half-truths are just as bad as giving wrong advice.
Confused/conflicted about the ballot proposals? You're not alone! Check out our voter guide for explainers and why our members voted to endorse YES on 2-6 (we didn't take a position on 1). tinyurl.com/NKDVoterGuide25

The @newkingsdems.bsky.social voter guide is helpful with these. I’ll be voting for them. it’s extremely fraught for Zohran because the council and major unions that are supporting him oppose the measures because the process as it stands gives them more power to negotiate concessions
Andrew Cuomo is incapable of speaking clearly and directly about Trump’s authoritarianism.
Anytime NYC DOT cancels a bike lane from now, on the 1st question out of reporters should be "How much did you get bribed?"
The effort to redesign McGuinness Blvd. was jump started in 2021 after a beloved local teacher was killed there by a hit-and-run driver. But that seemed to matter less to former mayoral aide Ingrid Lewis-Martin, who stopped the safety plan in exchange for money and a TV cameo. buff.ly/GDuiJLf
This video from Fairmount Bagels in Montreal from their Instagram is the most impressive thing I've ever seen
The new MSNOW backronym is so bad. I wonder what names they *rejected*.
Separated at Birth: Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services and Barack Obama.
NYT last year: We're no longer going to endorse in local races. www.nytimes.com/2024/08/12/b... NYT as soon as a candidate they don't like has a shot at winning:
No More Local Endorsements by The New York Times
nytimes.com
NYT Editorial board effectively endorses Andrew Cuomo today in the most weaselly possible way. “Don’t rank Mamdani, and it will probably be either him or Cuomo, sooo…”
RCV has led to a positive, substantive campaign with Lander and Mamdani acting as if they're in a buddy comedy about who loves New York more and Mamadani encouraging his supporters to donate to A. Adams. And then there's Cuomo, set apart from it all, fear mongering about a city in decline.
Cuomo's absence is so glaring and telling. He views other same-party political candidates as his enemies and not people vying for the same common goal. He absolutely should not be mayor.
The Irish have had ranked choice voting for ~a century & the saying there is ‘vote til you boke’ (boke=puke)—if you can’t stand the remaining candidates, don’t list them!! Anyone you list, you might end up voting for!!
I know we all want to figure out the best strategy to have the most OPTIMAL VOTE but there’s really no trick here, every RCV expert I’ve ever talked to says: just rank in order of preference, and don’t rank someone you loathe. that’s it! www.thecity.nyc/2025/05/01/r...
The new pope signed up for Twitter in 2011 with a Hotmail email address that he also used for a lot of other stuff, which is how I know that he's probably the first pope on Zynga and almost certainly the first pope on Tumblr
A Chicago Pope implies the existence of an MLA Pope and APA Pope
This is one of the best ads I have ever seen and I can’t believe I missed it
Okay lets game this out: You are a Nintendo employee given unlimited funds and authority to move Switch 2 production to the US. No new factories, that's going to take way too long, you need to work with existing American Contract Manufacturing capacity. How fast can you do it? 1/x
