difficult to overstate how much I despise prediction markets and everything they have done to society at large

I’m convinced that a large % of programmers don’t actually like computers. As a side effect, are also perfectly happy to throw away their reasoning to a model as soon as they can. I don’t get it, at ALL.

CBS just dismantled the most important and popular news show in the history of television at the behest of a president who regularly sics the FBI on his critics. Here’s why some NYU kids complaining about Jonathan Haidt represents the greatest threat to free speech that our country faces.

The Economy being good means nothing to me because it's a measure of how confident assholes feel in their line going up, and everything they do to make the line go up hurts me and devastates everyone who's doing worse than me. This isn't fucking rocket surgery.

so like lemme weigh in on this as someone who is more financially comfortable than many in my generational cohort: everything I have gained seems precarious and temporary because I know the people with real money will take it all from me the second they get an opportunity and no one will protect me.

"People have stopped believing that the economy can be good, and have lost the willingness to admit that they are doing well. That pessimism might be harder to fix than an actual downturn," @annielowrey.bsky.social argues.

i will not vote for any democrat that encourages throwing the trans community under the bus, i dont care who the opponent is i will not participate in an election where the choice is between two candidates that will attack marginalized communities to reach their personal political aspirations

Another banger. There was a common slogan around in woke 1.. “it’s not my job to educate you”. But it was. And us not doing it left the door open for the very worst to come in and do the educating

Humanity did that. Science did that. Publicly-funded research did that. Excellent universities did that. Diversity did that. International cooperation did that. Artemis II is a perfect example of what we can do at our best. Welcome home, Integrity crew!

Transphobia cooks your brain. You spend years screaming "everyone fits neatly into two sexes!" and then reality hands you Khelif or Caster Semenya and you can't adjust. You can't say "this is more complicated than I thought." You just call her a man, because the framework demands it. Fundamentalism.

I don’t live in Israel I don’t have family in Israel I have never been to Israel but if I mention anything about being Jewish? well you’d better believe I’ve got to clarify that I don’t approve of Israel immediately stop conflating all of Judaism with Israel’s government but leftishly
