Second of all - you know when it’s a good time to wear a condom, even if we no longer call HIV a pandemic? WHEN YOU ARE EXPOSED TO A BUNCH OF STRANGERS WHOSE HEALTH STATUS YOU DONT KNOW!

Just a Philly girl, livin' in a lonely world…and a Luddite learning (now) to BlueSky. #LongCovid since March 2020
I just saw an infectious disease doctor liken wearing a mask in 2026 to “wearing two condoms to prevent HIV” which has got to be one of the wildest, most irresponsible takes I’ve ever heard. First of all - Wearing one condom does protect you from HIV, as a well-fit respirator does from COVID!
This is how they get you to feel okay about diarrhea lettuce. Reminder that paying a monopoly to eat literal shit is not okay. And yes, this is eugenics.
When people die and the media says they had “pre-existing conditions”… they’re pacifying the public. Anyone could die from Cyclosporiasis, but they want you to believe it can’t happen to you. It can only happen to the weak, the disabled, the elderly. The expendable people. Eugenics.
1 in 4 people are disabled. Make it make sense 😭
Not going to lie, the past year and a half has tested me. Right now, I'm arguably the singular person doing disability breaking news regularly at a national newsroom. And breaking news, the process of rushing to find sources, is hard on my disabilities.
#pwLC can those of you from Pennsylvania give a shoutout? Either commenting below or DMing me. Going to try (again) to maybe start thinking about some state/local advocacy.

The next available start date is next Wednesday, but the job pays weekly, and they are very motivated to get out of this tent. Also, it is HOT here. And she's pregnant. Let's help them get out of that! Amazon has some options but they wouldn't be there before shift starts.
I need a shoe fairy. Pretty please. A #homeless couple living in a tent in Kansas City starts new jobs early tomorrow morning, but they each need a pair of steel-toed shoes. Walmart carries them. They just need help paying for them. DMs are open! Thanks!

Rep. Thomas Massie has announced he'll introduce the Epstein Files Transparency Act II, a bill to give state AGs, DAs, 'authorized state officers,' and victims the right to sue DOJ for "unlawfully withholding, redacting, delaying, concealing, removing, or failing to publish Epstein-related records."

And the U.S. Art 27 request paved the way for a more formal review process of bad calls, which should lead to less corruption
All of these can be true at the same time: 1) The suspension reversal was corrupt 2) No FIFA rules were violated (Art 27) 3) Art 27 is ridiculous 4) This is not nearly FIFA's most corrupt action 5) FIFA's history of corruption doesn't justify this corruption 6) The red card by VAR was BS

‘I felt my spine and body split’: the woman who was hit by a child on a Lime bike – and denied compensation
The collision was catastrophic. Jane Ouartsi suffered a fractured collarbone, two spinal fractures, a broken femur that took three operations to fix, and she had to learn to walk again like a baby. Why has no one taken responsibility for her life-changing injuries?

Another huge victory for the birthright citizenship clause of the Fourteenth Amendment
And while so many people are hating on lawyers, just having some involved in the drafting of FIFA's rules would have avoided this mess. Article 27 is an underspecified abomination.
It's honestly just really funny that a dumb sports thing has everyone speedrunning the entire history of philosophy of jurisprudence
This is a thing that has stood out to me: Belgium's argument really makes no sense. Article 27 exists. You can say it is overly broad or that it sucks. Or that it insulted your mom! It still exists and FIFA already used it in *this tournament* to suspend match bans!
Yeah yeah yeah, it all looks bad—the Trump call, the lack of transparency, etc. I agree. But Belgium et al. are making a textual argument about what words mean in the FIFA regs/code. And the words plainly don't mean what they're suggesting.
This is an important distinction. Belgium is probably right that the regulation is bad, not transparent, and too general/broad. But it’s a likely losing argument that FIFA misapplied it since that’s hard to do when the rule is written so general/broad that they can essentially do anything they want.
