4. Fuck them, that’s why. TERFs like to say “we are the daughters of the witches you couldn’t burn.” Bitch, trans women are the modern witches you can’t burn. You’re the ones holding the torches and shouting about how we’re demonic beasts who must be destroyed to protect the town.

Amnesty UK just excluded “A Growing Threat – the Anti-Rights Movement in the UK” from Internet Archive. "Like a Snowball: The Growth & Impact of the Gender Critical Movement in the UK" is still up. I've added alternate archives of all five pages & documents. www.transgendermap.com/issues/group...

I'm not holding my breath for the FM switch-off, but given how bad DAB is - if they force it, it might end up being the death blow to radio. Bauer especially (and to a lesser extent Global) have done a great job of enshittifying FM.
As much as they'd love to switch freeview and freesat off I reckon its got a good 10 years. Look at how long it's taken to move people off of AM. FM switch off? Hah, no chance.
Re: Freeview - The UK's still a very long way off (poss. decades) being able to support reliable video streaming nationwide; there still isn't (reliable) mobile 5G connectivity where I live (which isn't in the middle of nowhere) after Vodafone botched an attempted local upgrade and haven't been back
I got a deal on an Audi that basically meant it made no sense to get any other car. Since I got it, it's improved my driving no end. It's nothing to do with the car itself, I'm just really conscious now to try to drive as differently as possible to a standard 'Audi prick'.
Spend a bit of time in nonprofits and you’ll notice that the nonprofit industrial complex is largely uninterested in changing much - it exists to feed the people at the top and the food is prestige. They want to attend galas and play act that they care. They don’t.
Yes, this has infamously always worked and never led to a spiral of more oppression and violence! /s It’s amazing to me that people never learn. This was why we had to push for anti-bullying at schools in the 2000s and too many still haven’t learned and keep losing their orgs & spaces to Nazi bars.

I used to do some work on the ethical use of satellite and drone imagery for aid and disaster response, and it is genuinely hard to express in words what a dangerous, stupid thing Google is doing by making it easy to use GenAI to create faked satellite imagery:
How to plant a nuclear plant in Iran
The question is: what on earth is Google doing?

Origin FX was a 1992 After Dark-style screensaver package for Windows 3. It included modules from contemporary Origin games and the idea was that future games would ship with addon disks that would let you watch their cinematics. Strike Commander was the only one that ever did!

No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.
AI labs buy, scan, shred millions of rare books
If you have retreated to physical books because the internet is too full of AI slop, bad news — now they’re shredding the books to feed their AI slop machines.

Last week at #EMFcamp I gave a talk about the nothing-like-it-on-earth RSRE Flex operating system for #PERQ workstations. I'm very happy with how it came out! For a challenge, watch at 2X: media.ccc.de/v/emf2026-91...

UK journalism *created* transphobia as a font of far-right hatred almost entirely unaided. They sowed the sparks and fanned the flames to create the inferno. To now back off because they feel their own safety is at risk from the fire? I'm genuinely furious at the moral bankruptcy involved.
This is grim and a direct consequence of decades on mainstreaming of far-right politics and euphemisation of the threat they pose Calling it "rightwing" here is exactly what has gone wrong for example 1/ www.theguardian.com/media/2026/j...
