I hear a lot about the "Rotating Villain" in the Dem caucus, but very little about their mirror image in the GOP caucus (what one might call the "Rotating Sane Person") i.e. people like Collins, Murkowski, (formerly) McCain who are allowed to buck the caucus when it's clear their vote is superfluous

I mean this is fundamentally one of the big reasons why data centers have no local constituency: they don’t actually create a lot of jobs they’ll employ some folks during construction but the actual day to day operation of a data center really doesn’t need many people, especially given its size

Hassett: "Data centers are very good for towns bc they create so many jobs & bring people in with high incomes that can buy houses & stuff like that. So if you take a sleepy town that hasn't seen much in the last 30 years & put a data center there, there are gonna be a bunch of happy residents."

My great-grandfather was among the first Jews sent to Dachau, but it had operated for 8 years prior. He arrived to find a concentration camp already full of communists and other leftist dissidents. The public's acceptance of their incarceration paved the road for his own.

elon musk could have whatever movie he wanted made, as professionally as he wanted, starting pretty much whenever he might want. he could probably even direct it. that he has the imagination of your average gooner and just wants AI to have and realize an artistic vision for him is really revealing
