On a break from designing boardgames to pursue other creative ambitions such as writing books and making indie videogames.

As is the number of responses of the form "here's what [genAI] said" to any question. Invariably the answer provided in this format is partially if not entirely incorrect and now you've also wasted my time.

I'll summarize this: Mamdani asked NYers to keep air conditioning at 78 degrees. A wave criticism hit online. A MSNBC broadcast pointed out the US Department of Energy recommends that 78 degree figure. Immediately after, the US Department of Energy deleted 6,000 web pages related to energy saving.

A 5-4 Supreme Court just barely stopped a president from erasing the 14th Amendment by decree. We were one vote away from a very different country, and from upending countless lives in the process.

Milestone update: my videogame is now 3/7 of the way complete! Lots of new features this time: sounds, inventory, and new factions. Time to get more playtester feedback, then do another round of refinement.

Everyone whose livelihoods they want to destroy understands, painfully, the reality of income and outgoings, costs and profits, money coming in and money going out. All of us, in the real world, and they look down on us. I can’t wait for the bill to land for these arseholes. Destroy them back.

Just finished Mina the Hollower and thought it was great. If you enjoyed top down classic Zelda games, this is for you! * Disclaimer, it can be punishing. I had to turn off fall damage to avoid pulling out my hair. 🤣

Musk functionally ran the US government for 6 months last year and managed to: increase spending, slash services, kill 100,000s, and help nurture both Ebola & Screwworms. Yet somehow no one mentions this when they talk about the company he is going to take public this week.

Entering month 6 of Mamdani's NYC & Robberies are down 11%, Retail theft is down 19%, & Murder is down 21%—all without "Adding 5000 new cops." Instead, he's invested in public safety free childcare, food, and better funded schools. Safer cities come from investing in people—not punishments.
