Don't look up.

A small-town mayor told me how in his town people hanging up flags would chase down those who took them down and beat them up. The legacy of Starmer is one of increased and empowered far-right and racist violence. I don't see any Labour attempt to turn this around or even critically engage with it.

Leaders of flag-raising group Raise the Colours Oxfordshire placed trackers on highway workers’ cars to find out their home addresses, the High Court has heard. RTC then attempted to intimidate the highway staff into no longer removing flags by repeating their addresses to them.

The idea that bluesky is a "leftist bubble" is such a prime example of the self-defeating narratives of the Left. "We have become too progressive and too woke. We only interact in our bubble." - empirically wrong, but repeated constantly in circles of powerful people who claim to be on the Left.

El-Sayed campaign says Stevens conceded in Michigan Senate Democratic primary per @apnews.com Rep. Haley Stevens called Abdul El-Sayed to concede in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate in #Michigan on Wednesday morning, according to El-Sayed’s campaign. apnews.com/live/electio...

Live updates: Senate Democratic primary in Michigan remains too early to call

The Democratic primary for U.S. Senate in Michigan between progressive Abdul El-Sayed and moderate U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens is still too early to call.

Progressives are always expected to hold their noses and vote for the Dem in the general no matter what... Interesting that the loser right-wing Dems are already acting like they might allow a republican to win in Michigan. That would mean Trump might get to appoint another supreme court justice.

If those losers split the ticket and hand trump a vote for a supreme court justice, they should stop calling themselves democrats and just become republicans.

Regardless of preferences--he's outspent like that, has a torrent of Big Boppers against him, and he actually wins. Can't minimize that, but some are trying to. Would've been impressive if he came close As he himself said, he had wrong skin color, religion, name Outspent. Still wins. That's big

Do you understand? I love my immigrant neighbors. I love my Jewish and Muslim and Black and Latine and Korean and refugee neighbors and friends and family. I love my city and my state, despite all their problems. I’m not giving up on my town. I’m not giving up on Michigan. Because I love them.

Stevens has gone out of her way to praise and fund ICE, the monsters who have terrorized and destroyed the lives of so many immigrants in Michigan. That affects my community, my people, and you’re goddamn right I’m happy I don’t have to vote for her evil ass in November.

and honestly, if they want to make fun of us from over there? good for them, by all means, I don't have to see it in my mentions I can make a post in support of trans rights and 95% of the comments I get are "hell yeah man" and for all of bluesky's issues that's pretty damn nice

Bluesky is a "liberal bubble" because fascist chuds can't get traction without algorithmic assistance and because people here trained themselves to block "debate me" trybois the instant they roll up

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

Bluesky oldheads will remember that brief period of time when the conservative trolls tried to storm the place and were flummoxed by the idea they would have to organically grow an audience and that someone who didn't want to talk to them could nuke every interaction they ever had from orbit

there are definitely downsides to the nuclear block but the reason I keep coming back to it as necessary and good is that it completely ruined the whole MAGA engagement model to the point that they prefer to mock us from the nazi bar rather than come here to troll us directly
