What a fun meeting! The future of Swiss science is bright ⭐️ Thanks @dudinlab.bsky.social @michaelraissig.bsky.social for the invite! Wonderful to see old friends @annikaguse.bsky.social @lsaunders.bsky.social @jandevries.bsky.social and new
Using micropatterning & thousands of hours on the microscope @manuelthery.bsky.social and the #CytoMorphoLab reimagined the Musée D’Orsay. Accompanied by an orchestra and poet, their images transported us into the cellular universe. I remembered why I am a cell biologist. All of this is in us. Wow!
Are you a long-time fan of Archaea, an extremophile-phile, or are you simply curious? Either way, we have good news. We’re delighted to announce the 2026 EMBO Workshop on Archaea, 6–10 July. Sign up: meetings.embo.org/event/26-arc... We look forward to seeing you in Cambridge, UK. Please repost!
Molecular Biology of Archaea: Life Through the Prism of Archaea
In 1977, Woese and colleagues revealed Archaea as a distinct domain of life. Building on this insight, the discovery of Asgard archaea has strengthened the view that many hallmarks of eukaryotic cell…

Ordering of cell cycle events by regulated proteolysis is not just for eukaryotes: @buzzbaum.bsky.social et al define mechanisms underlying switch-like degradation of archaeal ESCRT-III CvdB in Sulfolobus Thanks to @reviewcommons.org for another #RefereedPreprint link.springer.com/article/10.1...
🥳 Our new paper on C2CD3 is out in @plosbiology.org With the labs of @cellarchlab.com , @chgenoud.bsky.social , and @stearnslab.bsky.social , we revealed the mammalian centriole Distal Ring architecture by combining #UExM and in situ #CryoET. Big congrats to @ebertiaux.bsky.social and all involved.
How does C2CD3 contribute to distal appendage formation in centrioles? @centriolelab.bsky.social show that C2CD3 acts as a central architectural organizer of the distal #centriole, bridging the luminal distal ring complex & peripheral appendage sites @plosbiology.org 🧪 plos.io/496XZuH
Thrilled to receive the Peters Poster Award (Postdoc) at the 29th Young Researchers Meeting of the @fondationarc.bsky.social Grateful to the Fondation ARC, the jury, and donors for supporting my fundamental cancer research at @echardlab-pasteur.bsky.social ’s unit @pasteur.fr
Honored to receive the 2025 #Sidaction Scientific “Young Researcher” Award. @sidaction.bsky.social Thanks to my supervisors & colleagues for their support. Inspired to receive this trophy from #Françoise #BarréSinoussi, Nobel Prize laureate, and motivated to keep contributing to scientific progress.
I am so proud of @jezcarlton.bsky.social . What a magnificent inaugural lecture, many congratulations Professor Carlton!
The first article that I edited for @jcb.org is out! It's about presynaptic actin, it's in Drosophila, and it's from @biljanaermanoska.bsky.social, Jonathan Baets and @rodallab.bsky.social. Congrats for this neat work!
Nonmuscle myosin II regulates presynaptic actin and neuronal mechanobiology in Drosophila
Neurons and muscles must maintain structural contact despite mechanical strain. Ermanoska et al. identify a presynaptic actomyosin core at Drosophila neuro

OMG, this is such a cool paper from Patrick Caswell's lab. They express Rab25-mCherry-GFP-nanobody in cells, microinject GFP-magnetic particles, then use a magnet to pull Rab25 to the plasma membrane to show that it can trigger actin protrusions! I want this system. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
Live-cell magnetic manipulation of recycling endosomes reveals their direct effect on actin protrusions to promote invasive migration
Repositioning of Rab25 vesicles containing formin and integrin cargos to the cell periphery promotes protrusion formation.

SNAP-tag2 for faster and brighter protein labeling - Nature Chemical Biology
SNAP-tag is a widespread tool for labeling protein for bioimaging. Now, Kühn et al. report SNAP-tag2 with increased labeling kinetics and brightness, which translates into a better performance in live...

What a fantastic ESCRT meeting, the field is going strong and full of exciting science. Many thanks to @rouxlab.bsky.social @cellarchlab.com @jujumathieu.bsky.social @magromayor.bsky.social @majarad.bsky.social for organising such a a great event
Wonder doesn’t flinch. It’s our compass pulling us toward curiosity, creativity It reminds us: #science & #discovery are good. Here’s a moment that stirred mine: a new PI(3,4)P₂ probe illuminating the cell membrane & endosomes. Marvel with me. Captured on #FluorescenceFriday for #MicroscopyMonday
🚨Paper alert! 🚀 We presented SINETRA at #ISBI2025 in Houston A new simulator for generating realistic 2D/3D neuron tracking data in moving animals like Hydra vulgaris 🧠 Helps test and improve tracking algorithms under tough conditions 📄 dx.doi.org/10.1109/ISBI... #celltracking #syntheticdata #ISBI
I am super excited that our @tibbe-evolneuro.bsky.social symposium we proposed with @ebablab.bsky.social & @alealisousa.bsky.social for @eseb.bsky.social @eseb2025.bsky.social in Barcelona received so many fantastic abstracts! 😍🚀 Looking forward to seeing all these amazing projects! 🪰🐟🦜🌿🐒🐍🦋🦎🐊🐜🕷️🦟🦗🐙🐸🪲
Watching fission yeast divide is cool🦠. But showing it with a kymograph? Even cooler 😎, shows it all—mitosis, cell wall—packed into spatiotemporal magic🪄. Flattening time into 2D just makes it easier to understand. #FluorescenceFriday @pasteur.fr @pasteuredu.bsky.social #Microscopy #Microbiology🔬
