GOOD NEWS! A new cancer treatment has demonstrated unprecedented results in a large trial for cancer patients whose disease has become resistant to chemotherapy AND immunotherapy. Tumors shrank in OVER a third of participants, with 15 patients experiencing COMPLETE eradication of their tumors.
I strongly believe that one question we should be directing at more politicians is "What the fuck is the matter with you"
Anna H@athenepallas.bsky.social · last wk.I remember arguing with someone - now an MP - about soup kitchens: I saw them as a response to need, whereas they saw them as enabling homelessness. Enabling homelessness. As though homeless people made themselves so as a lark.
I remember someone comparing it to the gym. It's more efficient to move large amounts of weight with a forklift truck than a human being, but the point of going to the gym isn't that the weight is moved, it's that YOU learn to move the weight.

He's already in for life but there's constantly new trials to set precedent for every single thing he did wrong to be worthy of punishment. Elsewhere, political standards are so lax no one can even check if a dude's dead or not.

Self-education has become more accessible in the last 20 years than at any point in history, though not through ‘amateur reading’. The problem isn’t access to information but learning how to evaluate it critically - and that brings us back to universities (and Humanities)
How do you stay cool in Hookland? You visit a parish church and become part of its congregation of shades. You climb into a portal tomb and lie you back against its cooling stone as you listen to the heatless whispers of the ancestral dead.
The UK should be tremendously proud of this. Instead, our oligarchic media and opposition parties use it as a stick with which to bash the government.
