similarly both fuck AIPAC and I am very distrustful of almost anyone that rants about AIPAC
We created this guide for anyone who could experience a miscarriage in a state with abortion restrictions. We wrote it in consultation with dozens of doctors, including those who regularly treat patients who are miscarrying 👇
If You’re Pregnant, Here’s What You Should Know About the Medical Procedures That Could Save Your Life
Women experiencing pregnancy loss in states with abortion bans told us they wished they had known what to expect and how to advocate for themselves. We created this guide for anyone who finds themselv...

The Shakespeare on the Common Midsummer Night’s Dream is very cute. I bailed at intermission only because I was that sleepy
Weird 3m aura fun fact—you can tell when you have a counterfeit if a fresh mask does NOT smell like pickles. The real ones smell pickley. Masks can set off metal detectors.
“Underlying health issues” is the new “pre-existing condition,” the excuse health insurance companies would use to refuse cancer treatment to people who had acne once.
Every person who has ever died of AIDS died of an "underlying health issue"
I’ve been writing a counter narrative of shutdowns that has me revisiting media from that time. And let me tell you, the only other option was everybody die. So yeah.
it’s pretty obvious that a lot of people remember that COVID lockdowns were unpleasant and from there just extrapolate that they were therefore bad policy

trying to get my mother to adopt my attitude towards late trains which is, I’m here, I have my ticket, I won’t miss it, I don’t have tight connections to make on the other end, waiting is FINE and no need to yammer about how late it is/will be or speculate about same. It gets here when it gets here.
I think pointing to problematic stuff in Harry Potter as proof she was "always" like this is misguided because it ignores the very well-documented phenomenon of transphobes driving themselves totally nuts On Phone. She is worse than she's ever been, it's something we all saw happen.
wow ok I’m showered and dressed and packed and the bed is stripped and the sheets and towels down by the washer two hours until my train
"Bluesky is a political echo chamber" okay but I'm mostly here to chat with fun internet people and post art and make jokes, I cannot stress how much I don't care
That's what taxes are, man. That's the definition of taxes. "You are subsidizing things you might never use" man shut the fuck up. My taxes currently subsidize like oil company exec private jets, you think I'm upset at low-income people eating inexpensive bananas?
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
Every time you use genAI, you're supporting an ongoing genocide in Congo. Earlier this year, the US and UAE (which is, with our help, also committing genocide in Sudan) created a paramilitary force to ensure the flow of cobalt and rare earth minerals extracted by child slaves to create GPUs.
Congo Plans Paramilitary Unit for Mines with US, UAE Funding
The Democratic Republic of Congo will create a paramilitary unit to police its mines with funding from the US and the United Arab Emirates, the country’s General Inspectorate of Mines said.

and look - I’ll take a boy who has mildly annoying takes on modernist novels, noise bands, and Leonard Cohen over a boy who cares for no one and nothing but meme stocks and anabolic steroids ANY day
The beer fridge in my parents’ basement is a little thin on stock right now but the bottles of Smuttynose Old Brown Dog I found are MINE. so tasty.
honestly all the bullshit has radicalised me. i am now a trans sports maximalist. if lebron james transitions and dominates the WNBA for 20,000 years? i don't give a shit. fuck you
Tomorrow, August 4, 2026, is the day that "There will come soft rains" takes place.
I think it’s absolutely true that cis women and anyone else who dates cis men is forced to figure out EARLY, as a basic survival measure, that a man who comes at you with effusive praise and flattery is likely up to no good. Meanwhile, way fewer straight cis men develop this defense mechanism.
There’s also something to how women are socialized to be suspicious of flattery — it’s how we transfer responsibility for men’s desire onto women’s bodies; we are taught to defend against that in service to our “innocence” or whatever — whereas men accept flattery as their due. Perfect marks.
Also not forgetting the lovely BIPOC Sex Workers who helped make it happen. As “distasteful” as many consider them, Sex Workers, like Furries and Trans folks, are often signs of a healthy online ecosystem, since they embrace bodily autonomy and all that entails. Also, there’s a lot of crossover. ❤️
That said, let us take a moment to thank our Bluesky Trans and Furry Elders for freaking out Jack Dorsey so much he bolted and left us this nice social media playground, taking most of his crypto chuds with him. We thank you for your service.
Michigan just reported two cyclosporaisis deaths related to the Taylor Farms outbreak. A note on underlying health conditions- they’re very common, and >60% of people have at least one. So don’t fall for the “but they had underlying conditions” argument to downplay risk. Most of us do.
Just got an ad for electrolyte drink powders branded with Luigi’s Italian Ice flavors. Sweetened with stevia and monkfruit. So *safe* for me (can’t do sucralose or aspartame) but might taste funny. Might pick up a box at the store, won’t pay shipping.
Picture hanging project as finished as I can get it with current equipment. Need a taller stepstool with a narrower footprint than the painting stepladder to hang the other 2 that are ready, and 4 need replacement glass which is not a today project.
The irony of this is that what should be happening is the complete opposite: degrees that don't make enough should have their student loans forgiven. Yeah I said it. Go to law school and study corporate finance law? Pay back your loan. Go to grad school and study social work? Pay back nothing!
President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v
