We’ve seen what happens when a former real estate developer conducts a war, next will we see how the medical freedom movement deals with a health crisis?
BASH: How do you prepare for next pandemic? RFK Jr: We did almost everything wrong B: But what about now? K: We need to protect our rights B: ? K: During covid we dismantled our rights B: But I'm asking what *to* do K: You were part of the problem B: You want to sit here and attack me?
Sen. John Kennedy on Trump's blatant reflecting pool lies: "The president says it was caused by vandals. I don't know if he really believes that or it's part of his political messaging or he's just thinking out loud ... he grows anxious when he has an unexpressed thought."
📌Extraordinarily revealing that heading into the midterms Republicans would rather talk about a pandemic that killed millions than the high prices and hurt they have delivered America while holding the Executive, the Senate and the House the past two years ...
Yesterday I spent a sizeable portion of the day working on an abstract monotype (plot twist!!) and I guess my brain was really into it. When I went out to grab some dinner I saw an abstract image right there in front of me… Lubbock, Texas photographed 8.1.2026 #abstract
In case it's not clear from the article: my objection is not to teaching students about the Bible; what I find objectionable about the reading list is that it includes *only* Bible passages, to the exclusion of all other religions that make up the U.S. and Texas today.
I'm quoted at length in this excellent Gwen Howerton (@kissphoria.bsky.social) piece on Texas's new Bible-infused required reading list for public schools. cc: @bakerinstitute.bsky.social
I’ve been thinking about a couple I met, Larry and Wendy, from Galveston, Texas and how their postcards written by hand to people in North Carolina and Texas are acts of patriotism in these dark times.

This is how much of a fraud RFK, Jr is Prior to endorsing Trump, he approached Kamala Harris to see if it was possible to join her team. She declined Trump, on the other hand, paid $100,000 to secure RFK’s allegiance A fraud-and a cheap date
RFK Jr yelling at Dana Bash sounds like a rabid dog barking
He dumped water we needed in LA to fight the Palisades wildfires into the Central Valley just to fuck us over and it wasted water they needed for the grow season. No one remembers this either. It's insane.
It's pretty infuriating that Trump is denying disaster aid to Oregon for political reasons and I have barely heard anything about it, while Biden was falsely accused of doing the exact same thing to North Carolina and millions of people believed that
The Marx quote came up and it always makes me think of one of the GOAT tweets

It's not about one US Senate seat. It's about all of us together. It's about a belief that we can take our government back from the very people who want to monetize us at every turn. The fomentors of inequality. The drivers of war and genocide and apartheid. We get to decide.
This guy has spent his entire 20s sitting in his house livestreaming.
The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.
The Diarrhea Lettuce Company Has Been Linked to Forced Labor
The lettuce-producing Taylor Farms was linked to the widespread use of prison labor before its involvement in a cyclospora outbreak.

The idiot who didn’t know what happened at Pearl Harbor (according to Trump’s former chief-of-staff John F. Kelly, recounting a trip to the memorial site in Hawaii) wants to correct “historical inaccuracies”? What a joke this country has become!
Trump Says Smithsonian Exhibits Need Correction President Donald Trump ordered warning signs outside the Smithsonian telling visitors its exhibits need renovation and correcting what he calls inaccurate American history. theintellectualistofficial.substack.com/p/trump-orde...
Trump sued Capital One to prove they closed his accounts over politics. The bank’s answer, filed Friday: it was the anti-money-laundering desk. Months of review. Three hundred accounts. He pulled that thread himself.
Watching this unprecedented summer of drought, fire and heat unfold across Europe has just been awful. They're hitting temps the older, less catastrophic climate models told them wouldn't happen until 2050. We're in a new era.
Firefighters have contained a vast wildfire in southwestern France, allowing nearly 200,000 people to return home after what may have been the country’s largest peacetime evacuation.
I have zero opinions about who should be the 2028 nominee at this point (you have to finish your 2026 midterm before you can have dessert) but I am all for normalizing the idea that the fight needs to be about how many seats we're adding to SCOTUS and what channel we air the corruption trials on

From the mouths of teens: “States should provide AI literacy as soon as students get access to classroom devices; AI use should be banned on all graded tests; and teachers can require an oral defense of any project from a student suspected of using AI inappropriately.” www.npr.org/2026/07/30/n...
Adults have struggled to set rules for AI in school. These teens figured it out
Should students be allowed to use AI on assignments? What about on tests? Who should teach AI literacy? About 100 teenagers got together to try to decide.

I missed its February 2025 premiere, but just watched a rebroadcast of the NEH-funded documentary "Forgotten Hero: Walter White and the NAACP" as part of @wgbh.org 's American Experience documentary series. Absolutely worth adding to your queue. www.pbs.org/wgbh/america...

What I hate about COVID downplayers is… you won okay. In the aftermath of humanity coming together to develop the most crucial vaccines of our lifetime & collectively sacrificing to save lives, we are now less safe, less vaccinated & less empathetic than ever. You won ok. Lay down your swords.
Heyyy we're up to 5005 signatures!!! Y'all are awesome! Please do keep on signing and sharing!

I just subscribed to this block list, and I really appreciate the public service provided here
I started getting followed by some "film festivals" and "writing festivals" and thought "oh, these are cool!" Then I looked a little closer. They're all part of a network that preys on writers, charging us for reviews, and feeding our stuff into slop generators. So I made a list.👋🏻🖕🏻😠
Someone asked this black man about Elvis one time and it didn't go well at all.
All I’m saying is don’t ask Black folks how we feel about Elvis. Black folks how we feel about him?
So why isn't Fox news televising interviews of all the happy people who live near data centers so we can hear what a treat it is to live with the constant noise, lights, increased utility costs and non-existent new jobs?
Remember when David Hogg was running for DNC chair and the establishment stepped in and said we needed a responsible adult and then gave us Ken Martin, who throws his phone at his staffers? Also the DNC is $2 million in debt. But centrists still demand they should be in charge.
