i don't like to police genre, but it's not dark academia unless somebody gets squished in one of these bad boys
this is difficult in places with regimented hierarchies; i cannot imagine how you would go about it where hierarchies are loose and fluid. a senator doesn’t have a boss to answer to. neither does a house rep. this is mentorship on extreme difficulty level.
Fuck Platner. Fuck rapists and misogynists writ large. But also fuck tarring combat vets with your nihilistic stick. Who ended slavery and rebellion? Who ended fascism and Hitler? The lack of civic virtue and awareness, the lack of public service - that's the rot here, not 6% of the population.
Also the Republicans were screaming that Fauci helped authorize vaccines for children, which is something every goddamn parent I know was praying for every day for more than a year and have been thankful for ever since. These people are all self-centered idiotic sociopaths, nothing more.

My experience is of every American COVID-19 mitigation effort being obviously insufficient, and ended far too soon. To see people now argue that they somehow were too much, going too far? Not anti-vax or MAGA people, but folks just out here on Bluesky? It staggers me.

I can't stress enough what a crisis this is. Trump's own intelligence agencies concluded that Iran attacked Minnesota's critical infrastructure and Trump is saying that it's Minnesota's own fault and denying it was Iran. The federal government won't defend blue states in a literal war.
