As the RC starts looking into the protests. I started to wonder what the main Jewish lobby groups thought about the failure of states to pass stronger gun control measures in the wake of the antisemitic Bondi Terror attack. All I could find from the Australian Jewish Association was this:

The court’s action was in response to a petition by an animal rights group concerned about the welfare of the crocodiles. It was not based on concern for the welfare of Palestinian prisoners. (Yes, really.)

Just noting that as usual all the talk is about personal ambition and public perceptions. Not once is any drive to improve the lives of the Australian people mentioned

i find a useful line to draw in this sort of discussion to be between “did people think this was wrong” versus “did people believe in this modern reasoning and solution”, because it’s more often the latter which is false, since the oppressed tend to dislike their own oppression
