I think this is an extremely online take that is divorced from the actual democratic primary electorate. I am willing to bet that Michigan democrats have positive favorables of both AES *and* Stevens, and that is why it was close

one thing that RCV would help with is reducing the levels of intra-partisan conflict on the grounds that when it's FPTP there's no incentive to build bridges among partisans
EA Strom@profmisterlizzie.bsky.social · 3h agoIt's almost always true that the Democratic candidates, both centrists and progressives, are ultimately more gracious and pragmatic than the dead-enders who post about them on social media.
maybe they're right but there really isn't any reason to believe that "moderates" - as defined by DC conventional wisdom - have an advantage in these places. And if lefty candidates do win they'll chalk it up to a "wave" - correctly, somewhat, but when moderates win in waves they are geniuses

Money is obviously important in politics, but there comes a point of rapidly diminishing returns, so you can't actually guarantee a win just by throwing lots of money at it.

this isn't very popular to say, but for me personally, it was good that i had unrestricted internet access when i was a minor. i was aware of what i was doing and enjoyed it. i don't look back on it and go "well that was a mistake", i look back on it and wish i could do it for the first time again
Medicine. Medicine has grown by leaps and bounds. You cannot introduce vaccines that crater cancer rates, cure AIDS, and cure sickle cell, and then tell me things have only gotten worse. Also: Food. To a HUGE degree. I eat what I once considered rare treats every day, now.

Wouldn't read much into turnout numbers of a competitive primary vs. A completely uncompetitive one.

There's like a giant pile of literature and takes by multiple polling aggregators that you follow that all lead to the same thing, which is that primary turnout has literally 0 good correlation with general turnout. These takes are really painful.

Kansas' Amendment 1 is losing 71-29 and getting crushed in numerous Trump counties with 26% of votes in. These look over
Aaaaaaaand AP just called the Kansas U.S. Senate Democratic primary for Rev. Adam Hamilton, so now there is, indeed, six. Not surprising (he was breaking fundraising records), but notable all the same. (And possibly one more pastor nominee by night’s end — we’ll see.)

The AP has called the Democratic primary in #MO01 for Rep. Wesley Bell. He's currently crushing former Rep. Cori Bush 71–26%, although only 26% of the vote is counted. A high-profile loss in an otherwise good year for progressives.
I said that realistically, exurban Livingston County was a must-win for Haley Stevens. 61-36 El-Sayed at the moment.
