The real reason the entire UK media is being so hysterically defensive about Rod Liddle goes beyond the usual syndromes: reactionary wagon-circling, herd mentality, in-group elitism, etc. It's because Liddle is the example par excellence of the fundamental sickness at the heart of UK media.
