if your region is lucky enough to have wastewater disease tracking, take a glance at it monthly or whenever you hear about a potential wave for COVID etc. looks like masks are back on my fit.

Sex was significant: female sex = 454% more likely to have a MACE (vs 258% for male). Variant didn't matter - risk of MACEs were 308% for Alpha, 310% for Delta, & 335% for Omicron. Age didn't matter - risk was 363% for <65 & 283% for 65+. link.springer.com/article/10.1... 2/ #LongCovid

People that said “only protect the vulnerable” during the start of the pandemic did not have any viable plan that I could find at the time on how to do it. Their inane bleating resulted in protections being watered down, a confused populace, and millions of deaths worldwide.

COVID is rising in the US, but the overall trends are positive. Up until January 2024, each winter and summer COVID surge and lull was generally growing. Since then, the trend has been very consistent through five winter and summer surges, each lower than the next. Will the trend continue? 1/2

Up until January 2024, each winter and summer COVID surge was growing, and the lulls in between surges also were typically rising, as well. Since January 2024, however, the trend has been very consistent through five winter and summer surges, each lower than the next (declining from over 1,000 PMMoV in January 2024, to over 600 in summer 2024, almost 400 in January 2025, less than 200 in January 2026, and around 100 today—although still rising in this surge.) Likewise, lulls have also declined, from over 100 PMMoV in Spring 2024 to under 15 PMMoV this past spring.

The thing about COVID that bothers me now, is that even epidemiologists are saying it's no longer the third leading cause of death. That's great. But. Long COVID is still VERY much a thing, and a lot of people are dying of complications, yet that isn't being addressed as such. So I will still mask.
