You don’t need advanced tools to make art, around the constraints with which you’re working. You don’t need expensive formal training. You don’t even necessarily need years of practice. You usually just need some time and the willingness to muddle through the awkward phases of learning shit

“Your moral reasons to hate AI are ableist!!” is simply weaponising very real concepts in bad faith. No one with actual disability justice praxis would argue that the planet and workforce destroying bullshit machine is the solution to living in a deeply ableist society. Stop being cringe, AI stans

I actually don’t care if it makes me look unkind, but I don’t want to read a random wall of text in my DMs from a stranger about why they need AI for companionship. It was so long IG offered to use AI to summarise it 😑😑😑😑😑😑😑

I notice Kings Seeds have added chia to their seed catalogue this year. If you're thinking of buying and growing it, then I just want to point out that you probably have chia seed in your pantry. I grew chia from my pantry last year. It works.

Had a great time doing #48HoursNZ over the weekend – both helping my friend with his #film and making my own solo film. I can't wait for the Ōtautahi heats next week! It's so gratifying seeing an audience experience my work, and amazing to see everyone else's films and how talented everyone is.

Poster. Fruitstorm presents Elijah's Ladder, a solo film by Mark Darbyshire, made as part of 48Hours 2026. High-contrast image on an unusual angle showing a minimalist staircase inside a high-rise building winding up to a blinding light.
