Blue Bottle Games, as a policy, does not use generative AI. It's something we've discussed as a team, weighing the pros and cons, and ultimately, we decided it was not for us. Recently, while chatting with a colleague, she mentioned it was useful hearing our reasoning. So: Sharing time! 1/12

Exciting times! Thanks to the @svelte.dev CLI and our Houdini community add-on, you can now add Houdini to your new or existing SvelteKit project by simply running `npx sv add @houdinigraphql` The experience for the developer is much better, and the underlying code is much cleaner!

Working for 12 months under a threat of 1,600 additional layoffs is abusive and an example of how big tech companies believe the job market is so bad they can get away abuse. I feel bad for the folks at XBOX, the work culture will be horrible as will products created under such conditions of fear.

I am so tired of people who can't code telling me about how AI helps them code to 1% of the ability of a professional, which sure is 10x for them. It's like me telling people that the invention of music theory will make actual musicians obsolete because now I, too, can write chords that sound OK.

Really exciting to see the Go rewrite finally released! By far the biggest improvement to dev experience I've seen so far, and the additional 40% cache speedup is a very welcome addition as well. Everyone go give Alec some love, he has worked super hard on this for the past few years!

2.5 years of work is finally out! This is easily Houdini's biggest release in the ~5 years i've been working on the project. We rewrote the entire compiler from the ground up using #golang and #sqlite, dramatically improved the runtime performance, and added a bunch of features along the way.

I cannot emphasize enough, I'm so looking forward to GOW Faye/Laufey The *only* issue I have with it, is that Sony most likely won't port this one, and thus it means I won't be able to play it myself and yes, a console being more expensive than a month's worth of rent and bills, is a dealbreaker

HELP! #raylib maintainers needed! raylib has grown a lot in the last few years and it's impossible for me to maintain everything; there are some systems that I'd need some help from users with more experience than me! Thanks for your support! ❤️ github.com/raysan5/rayl...

My car can do a half-marathon even faster, and a fighter jet can do it faster still, and an orbiting spacecraft can do it in like 3 seconds. The impressive thing about half marathon times isn’t the time, it’s that a human did it.

Lightning, a running robot developed by Chinese smartphone maker Honor, finished a 21-kilometer (13 mile) run in Beijing in a stunning 50 minutes and 26 seconds, beating the human world record by more than six minutes. https://cnn.it/4mLRxQ8

To paraphrase a friend: stay on the path, make good things. Indie has always flourished in the face of AAA distraction. Times are bad, but let others deskill, pivot to nonsense or chase impossible outcomes. People really like playing videogames. Suits forget that every 6 months or so.

I posted a small article relating to many peoples' favourite topic: www.dominikgrabiec.com/posts/2026/0... I've had this written for many months but never felt comfortable enough to post it. Don't know if this means it is a good piece of writing or not.

What AI Really Is

I see a lot of surprised posts on social media and articles in the news about how badly incorrect AI generated text is, how it constantly gets things wrong, how it mixing up information in search, or ...
