It’s by no means the worst thing going on here, but imagine flying eight thousand miles to live in another country and calling millions of people who are actually from there “traitors”
It was IMO very clear that things were going badly wrong no later than 2002 and, even if nobody appreciated quite how bad it would get, the warning signs were all right there.
