And every time you engage with this franchise, you signal to the industry that there's still money in it and they should keep pumping out content from full-cast audiobooks to book box partnerships.
Writing Star Trek fanfiction has taught me that "Lieutenant" is a hard word to spell.
So CNN isn't just mindlessly platforming bigots, they decided to pick the biggest failure among bigots. Mace lost her House seat and her run for SC governor, and just appreciate how awful you have to be if SC Republicans don't want you. The only reason to have her on your show is malice.

They’re all decrying communism and the only Dem rebuttal from Donna Brazile is that, actually, Donald Trump is the REAL communist because he’s allied with Vladimir Putin. I hate every single one of these people so much.

I know the "aliens eat bugs" is a big trope, but I'd like to see some Star Trek with human-originated vermiculture. Instead of klingon gagh or ferenghi tube grubs, have some Old Earth style wasp larvae or fried tarantulas on the plate.
Civil servants have generally traded a lower income for increased stability; without genuinely binding assurances of stability, the government is a much less attractive employer. That’s the aim for ideologues who often don’t know what the government does, but it’s not a good thing.
