Super dumb question (my favourite kind), I'm looking for a Word Processor that isn't browser-based, which like, idk, grows plants or unlocks animals or hatches eggs to gamify writing, specifically within the Word Processor. Kind of like 4TheWords but not browser-based. Is there anything like this?

Generally we think of alt-text as the domain of those with accessibility needs. However alt-text is useful for many reasons, which benefit your viewers, as well as you, the creator!

An infographic. There are six panels. 1. "Slow internet. Alt text is shown in place of unloaded images." a drawing shows a phone with poor signal, and alt text is visible where the image should have loaded. 2. "Findabillity. Alt text helps to search content." A drawing shows someone searching 'dog with banana' and a post is shown underneath without the words 'dog' or 'banana'. It is implied to be part of the alt text. 3. "Screen readers. Alt is read out to people using text-to-speech software". There is a drawing of the output a screen-reader would show when viewing an image with alt text on bluesky. 4. "Translation. Alt text can be translated". A drawing shows a post being translated. The alt text is also translated into german. 5. "Readability. Text in images can be made legible" There is a drawing of some truly awful handwriting inside a speech bubble. The alt text clarifies what the text is supposed to say. 6. "Disambiguation. Description helps clarify intent." There is a drawing of a post with a picture of a creature. This is styled after the famous optical illusion of a rabbit and a duck. The alt text clarifies that the animal is a rabbit. It definitely looks more like a duck.

also it is an absolute tragedy how many people outside Japan saw the success of Hatoful Boyfriend and the lesson they picked up was “haha silly premise joke dating game amirite” and not “make beautiful weird games with incredible writing and a deep love for the genre it’s based in”!!!!!!!

Maybe once there was a genuinely left-wing portion of it but there isn’t anymore and this subject has showcased that better than any other.

Unfortunately for Zionists, anti-Zionist Jews do exist and have done so since the beginning of this modern colonial enterprise and violent cult. Of course, I don't want to have to point to anti-Zionist Jews or Israelis as the only acceptable verification of what is or is not antisemitic, this too is racist; it is however beyond clear that Arabs and Muslims in the West simply do not matter, the lives of our kin in the Levant matter even less, and nothing we say truly registers here, unless it's a scary Arabic phrase (NB: all Arabic phrases frighten the average racist), or something that can be folded into the War-on-Terror rhetorical apparatus. Which is why conservative media simply refuses to identify the anti-Zionist Jews they are attacking as Jews themselves, because to do so easily pierces the antisemitism mirage they're trying to erect over the mass graves of Palestinians. This campaign is not simply one orchestrated from without by white supremacists, it is propagated by Zionists themselves. Remember that the Israeli government's recent list of significant Australian "antisemites" included Antony Lowenstein, a local Jewish writer and journalist. Just yesterday, another local Jewish writer, Clare Wright, shared an email she'd been sent by "an actual halachi Jew" questioning her heritage and demanding she stop identifying herself as Jewish. (I share this with her permission.)
