May 24th, 2011: An outbreak of 49 tornadoes ravaged the Southern Plains and Ozarks regions. 15 tornadoes were significant, the strongest of which was an extremely violent EF5 near El Reno & Piedmont in central Oklahoma. 18 people were killed and 375 were injured. 1/2

So this covers individual radars, and @stormscale.io 's Heimdall Radar site covers MRMS. Both easy to use, free, and fast! No having to launch a script, no visits to multiple sites or opening multiple programs. Just awesome tools!

The upper level low/trough driving severe weather in the central US today is being poorly sampled by the (weather balloon) sounding network. We get lots of data from satellites & airplanes, but radiosonde data serve an important observational role, and errors in analysis reduce forecast accuracy.1/2

This thread is shocking in the best possible way.

It's not as anomalous as many other locales in the west have seen in past few days but still disconcerting to see the first 100.0 degree reading in my backyard in central Oklahoma considering it's only March 21st. At least the dewpoint isn't high, though that's increasing fire danger, so... #okwx

The multiple 112° readings today are just 1° short of the national April record, which happened in Death Valley with 113° on April 24, 1946 and also on April 22, 2012. Note that those occurred in late April (h/t to weather historian Chris Burt).
