Just in case you're thinking you could make ALL toilets gender neutral - no you can't! You can have gender-neutral toilets, but only when it makes virtually no difference. Sensible policy-making for a normal country.

Er. When, exactly, was this? To whom did it mean these other things? What did it mean to African people brought here as slaves? To enslaved people whose children were taken and sold? What did it mean to Native people as it pushed ever westward, pushing them before it?

My Response on Instagram to @saradotfeminism.bsky.social's criticism of @taliabhatt.itch.io. While Sara makes some valid points, I also think that she is somewhat unfair towards Talia. For once, I am strongly in favour of Talia's usage of the term "radical feminism".

Text from Sara (quoted by me): bhatt's big scary thesis is that transfeminism is a direct descendant of radical feminism. but she barely talks about radical feminism. she makes a handful of scattered references to Wittig, Rich, and Dworkin, but she doesn't spend any serious length of time actually investigating what radical feminists believe, what makes them distinct from other schools of feminism. Text by me: @sara.feminism makes some valid points, but is also somewhat unfair to Talia Bhatt. I don't think it was ever Talia Bhatt's intention to write an academically rigorous dissertation to prove said thesis. Her refusal to adhere to academic standards of writing (and especially her refusal to quote sources) is IMO her way of giving the finger to queer academia.

It's not that women are "allowed" to be emotional, it's that we're expected to be emotional hysterical illogical irrational infantilized inferiors, and are commensurately dismissed, disregarded and dehumanized for it. That's not "permission". That's just misogyny and it is used to harm us.

sry to weigh in with my tboy anecdote but like ppl who believe this shit are being obtuse on purpose i s2fg. like as a gay trans man i never had a time ever where i thought i was a lesbian yet ppl just assumed and asserted i was a lesbian anyway. almost like there's a reason it's "LGBTQ"
