[taps the sign] According to USGS GNIS "Per Secretarial Order 3453, Lake Ontario has been renamed to Lake America. The basemaps for GNIS are in the process of being updated." So Google (& Apple, OpenStreetMap, & everyone else who ingests GNIS) will start calling it Lake America within a few weeks.

this is both: 1) an extremely stupid situation caused by a deeply unserious individual and 2) 100% the correct product call by google they do this all the time for disputed names, and even change borders depending on who's viewing, e.g. the disputed border between India and Pakistan.

I've said before, the internet is really only useful for two things: 1. pictures of cats 2. pornography This is why furries are everywhere, running the internet and all. They're able to use the internet far more efficiently than anthropotypicals, since for them #1 and #2 can be the same thing
