To atone for my sins I am trying to translate my template-tag riddled gifeditor with one big "visualizer" function into nice and clean svelte components. It is going slowly but at least the not so involved ones (which means two our of like 10) work already; for the rest 🤷‍♂️

The “best” thing about genAI (the quotes are doing heavy work here) is that it’s really lowered the bar on getting into hand-made art. Literally anything you make is better than ai. There’s never been a better time to throw away your fear and start learning that craft you’ve always wanted to learn.

I have just been sent the transcript of a deposition my grandmother gave in 1977 while she was serving as an expert witness in a series of tribal rights cases and let me tell you, if nothing else this is proof that I come by it honest for every conceivable value of “it”

I know that an argument against AI based on quality is ultimately on the weaker side (after all look at how high quality the will smith eating pasta videos now are). But from a consumer perspective the slop problem is easy to see; probably easier than some other problems.

AI as responsibility gaps as a service. It feels like this stuff should have been covered by laws like yesterday. I would not even go through a negligence angle; I mean OpenAI told its hacker bot to hack and it hacked, seems kinda like they did it on purpose.

Using lists of three is not an "AI tell." It's a common trait in human writing because our brains biologically want to make sure there's always one thing to marry, one thing to fuck, and one thing to murder.

The inability of tech companies to say "nah that would be dystopian, let's not do that", paired with politicians betting on self-regulation, is driving me crazy.

I think we should combine philosophy BlueSky's position that "flirting can be unintentional" with the emerging Gen Z norm that "flirting outside of dating apps is immoral" to create the most neurotic generation ever before seen.
