MIGHTY MEGA PETS by Gary Northfield @stupidmonster.bsky.social - a bunch of pets get superpowers in this gloriously funny, silly, exciting and generally joyous graphic novel. A book that made a friend enquire what I was reading because I was laughing out loud so hard. Just an absolute delight. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dear Mr. Clegg I have started a business, selling the contents of your house I knew when I launched I did not have legal access your house Without this access my company will not be profitable Others have told me I have a flawed business model, but I disagree Please advise how I should proceed
This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?
Aha! Jim Medway proving himself to be not just a fantastic cartoonist but also a fantastic human being. medicalaidforpalestinians.enthuse.com/pf/jim-medway

All my Julius zebra books are in there, the thieving bastards.
Comics are a community. I like to think that we take care of each other. Please consider following the link in the post below.
Hey, all. Here's the GoFundMe link for our friend Becky Burke @reburked.bsky.social who is currently detained in appalling circumstances in a detention centre in the US by ICE. Where the money is going is all explained on the page. www.gofundme.com/f/4qt8r-brin... #BringBeckyHome
Already well thumbed, with thanks @wrdmag.bsky.social @walkerbooksuk.bsky.social. Julius Zebra's latest adventure, this time in Ancient China. An absurdly comic piece of fiction studded with fascinating historical facts. Gary Northfield @stupidmonster.bsky.social always has us howling.
Oh hey that’s my quote. Incidentally I spent Saturday writing my speech for London Book Fair. I’m chuffed with how it turned out. It mostly covers how children’s comics were abandoned by publishers in the 90s/00s, and in doing so we lost a generation of readers. www.theguardian.com/books/2025/m...

Had a brilliant #worldbookday, fantastic, jolly upbeat teachers and kids, 110% effort in costumes all round too! Such a life-affirming day :) A visiting parent (who was also a teacher) asked me in reception if I was an author, because I looked like one! 🥸 I’ve no idea what that means!

The Guardian view on AI and copyright: creativity should be cherished, not given away | Editorial
The Government is siding with big tech over British creativity. Today is the FINAL chance to respond to their consultation on AI and copyright. Let's make sure creators' voices are heard. Guidance below 👇 #MakeItFair #PayTheCreator www.alcs.co.uk/news/your-ri...
Every major UK newspaper - left, right, broadsheet, tabloid - is running a front page campaign against copyright carveouts for AI training. I can't remember the last time any political cause had such broad support, let alone one so anti-big tech and so economically consequential.

How can there be so many people in the world who want others to suffer?
Sure is a bad time to be a person who cares about things.

The ONE THING the UK punches above its weight at is the creative industries. Every move either party has made in the last 15 years has been to wreck them.
See also this @danfrancis02.bsky.social Hardworking artists and writers are having their IP stolen by the AI industry and the Labour Government is handing it them on a plate. There is an online consultation, but it is deliberate gobbledygook and impenetrable management speak.
Didn't have to read too much of the consultation to realise it is merely window dressing; a government wanting to be seen as doing the right thing while it has already decided to do the wrong thing.
This is so depressing. We are sleepwalking into a disaster for the arts. Theft and laziness is being normalised and our professions undermined. @danfrancis02.bsky.social Please have a word!
Just learned that kids in an english lesson in my school will be using gen aj. Also learned an art module will involve making a picture with m*djourney. Maybe we can do cross curricular work with climate change? That way I won’t feel like we’re fucking doomed.
Didn't have to read too much of the consultation to realise it is merely window dressing; a government wanting to be seen as doing the right thing while it has already decided to do the wrong thing.
The UK’s AI Opportunities Action Plan, published today, proposes legalising the mass theft of IP by AI companies. And the government has already accepted its recommendations, revealing the ongoing consultation on AI & copyright as a sham. More thoughts here fairtraining.substack.com/p/the-ai-opp...
