something frustrating about voting in the US: people clamoring for results as soon as possible. if it were up to me they wouldn't release any numbers for at least a week, and only if it's counted enough that there's a mathematically clear winner

Don’t say we didn’t warn you: Once religious schools accept taxpayer funding, politicians will use those public dollars to dictate their theology. The wall between church and state doesn’t threaten religion. It protects religion from government control, too.

Apple charges people ~20% more than the Patreon list price and they keep the difference for themselves. They also hold the proceeds of iOS app sales for 75 days, making it impossible for creators to accurately predict earnings. They basically inserted themselves in order to rip *more* people off

thinking about westworld and how it absolutely should not have gotten any seasons past the first one. the first season ended on a sort of cliffhanger, but in a way that i feel like made it best left to the imagination. i wanna watch it again

Aside from sounding like Agent Smith talking about human batteries, it's also wrong in a very deliberate way. Books store information, the delivery system is 'reading'. Training AI doesn't store information, it converts it into metainformation. You destroy the source, the information is gone.

People who buy cards, comics, figures, etc as investment items, not things to enjoy, and therefore keep them from people who actually would enjoy them are just fandom landlords and they should be ashamed.
