if there's one constant about Love Island it's that there's one producer that has way to much power over the challenges and a not-even-remotely-disguised food and slime and goop fetish that needs to be beaten with hammers

I'm on the fence about video game genre name discourse because it feels lacking in self-awareness that genre names in other media are categorically worse. "metroidvania doesn't tell someone what the game is unless they know the source material" brother what am I supposed to get from "House music"???

I love nintendo corporatized copy, they got a whole team making sure you call it "The Splatoon™️Raiders Game" like an alien on its first day on earth

screenshot from a nintendo promotional email, a stylized button reads "DIVE IN >" while the text below it says "The Splatoon™️Raiders game is available now!"

i love how centrists continue to do this thing where they say “if DSA becomes more front and center in the party, republicans will run on that!” as if the right doesn’t just say absolutely anything on and run on shit like peanut the squirrel or litterboxes in school bathrooms

I keep seeing arguments for games being expensive due to hyper realistic expectations for art, or simply lots of art. What I don’t see is the actual most costly reason: Indecision Iteration is good, but the yearly rebuilding of entire characters, storylines, and levels, is the most expensive thing

Many factors at play here - not the least of which is higher-ups (in their infinite wisdom) not being able to commit to anything, or knowing good from bad All the while the economy at large expects the profit line go infinitely up, absolutely ignoring its undeniable tendency to do the opposite
