My parents made this bird sculpture from various bits of wood and old metal they found in their shed and made a perch for it on the sawn-off trunk of a dead tree, and it makes for some great folk horror winter sunset photos.

The same manufacturer, producing the same textiles the same way with fibers from the same farms, generally makes worse fabric now than 20-30 years ago. And it’s not only “worse on purpose.” This applies to all textile production, even home sewists & those TRYING to make high quality.

"Polarization" is not the problem. Open and celebrated nationalism, white supremacy, eugenics, and fascism are the problems. "Compromise" with supremacists is a death sentence for the marginalized. We deserve better.
