Julia. General weirdo. Norwich-dweller. I like crisps.

a game like Stardew Valley but you are a younger son in Regency England and you have just acquired a living in a peaceful village. Tasks include improving the dilapidated rectory, upkeep of the graveyard, maintaining relationships with parishioners. Delivering quality sermons gets you extra points.

Kudos to those of my former design colleagues at what was then Archant who were part of that small team - they created the initial designs and put the first issue together in a matter of days (as well as coming up with many of those memorable covers through the years). 🌟

While it may not be to everyone's taste, sincerely very impressive that @thenewworldmag.bsky.social is 10 years old with 500 issues under its belt. Launching a print weekly in 2016 must have sounded completely insane. Congrats to the whole team.

Over the last few months these guys made me proud to be British: kind, practical, profoundly moral, a testament to this island. Now they're targeted by the very worst of us. I just gave them a bunch of money. You should too. Show those fascist clowns what's what. rnli.org/support-us/g...

I do not understand why people are min-maxing reading for pleasure. Why would you vacuously Hoover up books like you’re trying to win at reading. You win at reading by having a good fucking time!

Whenever I hear people saying that figures who were vile in public, and actively made life worse for other people through their actions or words, were kind in private, I think that they should have applied themselves to greater consistency across all areas of their lives.

I know that memory is unreliable but also I instantly bring to mind the exact flavours and textures of the school dinner I was forced to finish at the age of 6-ish(?), just before switching to packed lunches.

A generation of children confined to exclusively posting on LinkedIn, humbled to share that they have been recognised as thought leaders in vertically integrating your mom's supply chain.

There's probably never been a better time to remind you that when David Hockney first took his Mum to California she remarked 'all this lovely weather and nobody puts their washing out'.
