We're organizing to get money out of politics — and we are WINNING.

I've pretty much stopped reading Washpost's execrable and utterly unsupported opinion columns, but the summaries of reader comments never fail to entertain.

The NYT could have written a news story about this, with actual sources. Or at the very least they could have interviewed Ellison & asked him some tough questions. Instead they just handed over the most valuable media real estate in the world to a billionaire nepo baby to lobby for his company.

Our people deserve representatives who will put Western North Carolina first, not ignore us while they misbehave in D.C. My heart goes out to the young women who took roles with Congressman Edwards' office in the wake of his withdrawal from this race.

I see three quick takeaways here: 1) Polling is off a lot these days 2) A lot of media really never want to see the left win 3) It is never a good idea to close out a campaign boasting about how well you're doing. Bad for turnout and narrative.

The problem with the Politico piece this morning is that is feels absurd to cover an apparent victory with a “not the night they wanted” headline. Still, there is truth in the point below. A very close race was unexpected and that complicates things for anyone watching the race for deeper signals.

Mike Rogers is for Medicaid cuts that will close our hospitals, for total abortion bans and for ICE ripping our neighbors out of their homes. But at least he lives in Florida.

2024 was only a mid point in the Republican Party’s moral collapse.
