Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.

This. All day. Ghosting a freelancer rather than professionally and politely saying "your rates are not in my budget" and moving on is one thousand times better than disappearing. Ghosting leads to self-doubt and worry that I am pricing myself out of work. That feeling compounds over time.

I keep thinking about that Publisher's Marketplace article on AI in publishing and how the only two books that have been publicly challenged are two self-published books by Black women that did well and I cannot think that is a coincidence.

Anyway, I feel like we're about to head into a timeline of AI witch hunts on the publishing side and the people who are going to suffer are going to be the same people who always bear the brunt of a purity test.

Gotta love the “or stocks” part. Like Gemini realized its first answer was nuts so it tried to wedge in a better one.

This is a good example of the way appeals like “we’re going to protect women whether they like it or not” garnered support from a majority of white women voters; the hypothetical pedestal promises visibility and value in a way that’s otherwise denied.
