Enrico🐀@redbassett.com · 3d agoI'm not being facetious, this is a sincere take, but after spending many many hours over the years mulling solutions to distracted drivers, I've firmly landed on not removing the distracted part but rather the driver part. We need solutions to reduce phone use driving, but also driving.

Plenty of other transit systems have reduced fare programs for riders who need it most. Why doesn't NJ Transit? RPA is joining @tstc.bsky.social and other orgs in the Fair Fares NJ campaign to call for reduced fares for low-income riders. Join us in our campaign! https://bit.ly/3Ttjz8l
NJ Transit offers discounts, but not to these riders. That needs to change, groups say.
A newly formed coalition wants NJ Transit to offer reduced fares to its poorest riders, similar to what 18 other transit systems now do, including those in NYC and Philly.
