I look at pregnant people as young as 15 in my research. I say people because aside from being gender inclusive, I will not refer to pregnant children as "women".
C@trappedunderacat.bsky.social · 6mo agoRelated point, I was under 12 when my endometriosis started. I was not a woman, I was a child. Saying people instead of women is not just gender inclusive, it's also age inclusive.
This is a great read by someone who's been unfailingly kind & supportive to other debut authors. Stephen's written The Last Death Poet, a YA novel in which Michael moves to Belfast where his dad disappeared, & starts having visions of the city's troubled past. Go Stephen! #ukkidlit #kidlituk #ya

One of the things about this study is that a lot of baby and toddler books are written in house, by editors. So the study reveals the whiteness of editorial in kidlit even if not explicitly.
