People have two starkly opposed visions for this country: a melting pot, a beacon of peace and freedom with opportunities for all, or a white Christian nation, founded on Old Testament values with strict hierarchies of worth imposed through violence. That’s why they chose Trump as their leader.
Crop yields down, our countryside scorched and over 2800 people are dead due to this summer's heatwaves. Meanwhile fossil fuel giants are raking in record profits. We must end this rampant profiteering, and cut fossil fuels from our energy mix as soon as possible.

May be wrong here, but my sense is there is a whole media apparatus that aggressively screens Dem candidates and cautions voters not to support the more left-wing candidate. And this is asymmetric. Credible media messengers don't police right-wing candidates the same way.

I'm going to guess it has something to do with the oft-repeated "Judeo-Christian" concept, where idiots who barely understand Christianity think that Jews believe the exact same stuff except for the Jesus part. I was raised this way, and it took some learning on my part to be better.
