It's absolutely insane we've somehow let the Covid recriminations debate become like "why didn't we reopen in person schools before there was a vaccine" and not "why did none of the trump guys go to jail for stealing PPE from New York hospitals in March 2020"

What did the most damage to our country was the virus. What did the second most damage to our country was people deciding, since COVID-19 disproportionately impacted service workers and people of color, that it wasn't that big a deal and they were no longer willing to be inconvenienced over it.

From the CNN article: "'Trump, as you recall, wanted to end the lockdowns. I think the thing that did the most damage to our country was the lockdowns,' [RFK Jr.] said."

Here's a solid fact check by CNN following Kennedy's sewer of lies. It's a start but they need to do more including a substantial video segment broadcast live on TV just like this bat sh*t crazy interview was. www.cnn.com/2026/08/02/p...

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

An aircraft passenger oxygen mask: a drop down passenger mask with air bag and yellow plastic mouth and nose cover, oxygen tube has been cut; Demonstration model used by flight attendant crew for passenger instruction. Has text on the side indicating that it's non-functional.

@propublica.org management has finally come through for its workers—not all the way, not as far as it should have, but enough to reach an agreement. As I pledged to do, I gave money to ProPublica today in support of its journalistic mission. My donation is dedicated to @propublicaguild.org.

🚨 WE HAVE A DEAL! After three years, in a major step forward for our members, we have ratified our first contract with @propublica.org’s management. We deeply appreciate everyone who supported us along the way. Here are some of our big wins👇

A graphic poster reads "We have a deal! The ProPublica Guild has reached a deal with ProPublica's management on our first contract and has voted to ratify it. Swipe for the highlights [pointing emoji].

Was just digging through old D&D campaign notes for material to repurpose and found a list of choice #TTRPGQuotes: "I'm not that inclined to chase rats that are the size of me and that I could possibly ride." "Congratulations, you have mocked a rat to death."

It is a brief, magical moment where you can do an actual, big-screen double feature of The Odyssey and Hadestown this week. Mythology nerds, film nerds, and Broadway nerds are getting their thematic Barbenheimer moment.
