We haven’t gotten our MA need met, but we’re about to pivot to see if we can get some help for our friends. She lost her husband about a year ago, they just had to surrender all their cats, and they’re about to wind up in a shelter. We can only take the three people in for one, MAYBE two nights.

She's counting on the fact that her opponent is a MAGA nightmare to carry her past throwing a few marginalized groups under the bus. This won't earn her any new voters & might even lose some.

Trans People Are Not "Issues": Arienne ChildreyResponds to Acton Campaign Lockout Tonight the Acton Campaign held what was titled 'LGBTQ+ Community Conversation with ODP and Team Acton: I approached this meeting with high hopes - despite the fact that Acton would not be present - for a meaningful, productive conversation about the pain caused to the trans community by her recent comments and a commitment to repair the damage. That was not this meeting. During the conversation, the Acton campaign made no commitments to any sort of action to repair the damage, and they completely refused to offer a retraction of her prior comments. This is not just a disagreement about sports. When a candidate characterizes trans girls as 'boys in girls' sports, it invalidates the basic identities of every single trans person in Ohio. Furthermore, our voices were actively suppressed. Myself and a number of other LGBTQ+ leaders were refused entry into a meeting we had been invited to attend. One trans advocate - Ciara Keeton - was booted from the meeting entirely just for pointing out the campaign's refusal to allow trans leaders into the room. When we were digitally locked out, it took the Chair of the Pride Caucus calling my personal phone and putting me on live speakerphone inside the room just for my voice to be heard. All in all, this felt like a meeting designed to pacify the LGBTQ+ community and allies, without any real commitment to change or making amends for past harm. I am not here to tell anyone how to vote in this election. I understand that people feel conflicted for a number of reasons. However, it became very clear tonight that even in our Democratic party, some leaders value power over people. And to be clear, this is all about people, because trans youth are not 'issues, they are people. Trans adults are not 'issues, we are people. We must completely reject the harmful corporate argument that defending our existence is just 'identity politics! Our basic civil and human rights are not identity politics-and it is very interesting that the people who make those arguments are almost never the ones whose own identities are under attack. Ohio needs leadership that respects, appreciates and supports the rights and opportunities of ALL Ohioans, and that must include trans Ohioans. Nationally, leaders from the other side are doing everything they can to silence the voices of trans people. I have in the past and will continue to speak out against that bigotry. However, the real work of advocacy can't consist of the sort of political calculation that only allows for criticism when it's directed at the opposition party. Being an advocate, a leader and an ally requires speaking out when its tough, even when it's your own party. Haitian man fired because a person stepped into *help* and shot off her mouth. Americans, STFU! You don't even *know* anyone's real immigration status. The laws are incredibly complex. Many times when people go to court, they're freed. KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT ABOUT PEOPLE'S IMMIGRATION STATUS! MYOB!

Just got off the phone with him. An older woman in the building he works at tipped off his employer by "advocating" for him calling his company to say how good of a worker he is & how TPS is ending but they shouldn't fire him 🙃.
