Hey NZ parents, what can we do to get your young adult kids enrolled to vote? I know it's the responsibility of the young adults, but is there something we can do to help things along?

Vote for Tamatha Paul, who immediately put out a call for support for organisations who are on the frontlines of an increase in “people in our communities sleeping out in the open in sub zero conditions through freezing southerlies, hail, rain and flooding”. 👇 Link: www.instagram.com/reel/DbmeuHu...

tamathapaul Plug for anyone who is in a position to give to consider a koha to organisations like @dcm_wellington, @te_whare_nukunoa, @salvationarmynzfts and
@wellingtoncitymission who are ramping up their efforts to distribute sleeping bags, warm clothes and hot kai over winter.
I know DCM are about to launch an appeal to help fund crisis accommodation for rough sleeping whānau so please follow them and give where you can.
The number of people in our communities sleeping out in the open in sub zero conditions through freezing southerlies, hail, rain and flooding is increasing.
A reminder that this government has made it harder for people to access emergency accommodation and have left these same people to freeze to death on the streets because apparently it is "their own fault that they are homeless". Example #13498 of articles from US media analysing the “mistakes” Trump is making and how he’s “alienating his voters” that completely misses the point that Trump can and will get away with anything because the American voters fundamentally support everything he does. www.rnz.co.nz/news/world/8...

As he wrestles with the monumental and the absurd, Trump forgets what voters want

Donald Trump's risks leaving a legacy dominated by a US strategic stalemate in Iran, unaddressed economic anxieties, and Republican Party schisms caused by his personal obsessions.

Winston Peters described him as a “member of the public” the party had no responsibility for. He is in fact an executive committee member of Young NZF (at least he was described as such in 2024) and spoke on behalf of the group at the party convention last month.

Green party doing a fundraiser 500m fast film me, including a market. I'm just like... Ah ok, so we don't ask other Greens if they'd like to do a stall? Might leave the party. Will still vote etc, but i joined in the hope to participate, and literally all i get is "come doorknocking" (= no)

No. Absolutely not. The government represents all our *citizens*. The government is responsible to the *citizens*. Businesses do not feature. They are not a partner. They do not have rights. They are not “equal” to the government. They do not have a voice. They do not have a say. #nzpol
