For the past five months the only refugees the USA has accepted are white South Africans fleeing equality & safety meanwhile they are disappearing or strapping ankle monitors on any Haitian they can get ahold of. It needs to be understood how thoroughly connected these two things are.

The struggle is getting Aussies to support Aus film. When I told offline folks I was going to see Talk to Me at the cinema, the reactions were consistently that Aussie films are shit, a waste of time. I fucking loved that movie, but there's still a perception that if it's not American, it's garbage.
