not sure if it's good or bad that the dsa, which until 5 months ago was a book club for underemployed grad students, is beating to a pulp the billion dollar harvard educated democrat operative janissary class with 5 shitty flyers and some twitch streams

the sigh that left my body. sighs within sighs within sighs, a sighducken, the sighpocalopyse, the sigh of the times, the inceptsigh, arch deluxe with sighs, blue sighs smiling on me, I sigh with my little eye, sigh newhouse, the palace of versighs. and a little tiny manicured sigh, aka a bonsigh.

it turns out, also, that people really want algorithms. they say they want a straight chronological feed, and then ask where is the “suggested content” and how to find people talking about similar things. those are algorithms! people love the tiktok algo!

i dislike this beyond being factually incorrect, it is also missing the core problem with Big Tech Algorithms: it is a matter about who controls attention, not the algorithm itself /1

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

finally got around to reading this essay @rusty.todayintabs.com linked to last week and it feels like the skeleton key for understanding *so much* about our current socio-economic shit sandwich. substack.com/@henryfudgeo...
