1. he’s so open about it this term! so basically republicans have had to move to “this is good, actually”, can’t deny it’s happening 2. it hits different, even for republicans, when everything is so damn expensive trump grifting billions stops feeling like owning the libs and more like owning you

Suddenly, Trump's corruption feels like a salient political issue. I don't know why it took this long, but it's happening. Even Republicans are telling pollsters they're souring on Trump's grift.

I agree with this. One amendmwnt that I think could pass is to modify the electoral college so that winning > 50% nets you some number of bonus electors but that if no candidate reaches 50% there is a second round of voting.

Presidentialism isn't great, but two-round elections are certainly better than single-round, because a lot of the "oh that guy couldn't actually win" realize "oh sh*t, he could actually win" and get off the bench. Trump doesn't win 2016 if we use 2-rounds.

Donald Trump set another record. There’s NEVER been an election (since polling began in the United States) where voters said “corruption” was their top worry. Until now.

❗❗❗Mark Zuckerberg's meta just suspended the No Kings Instagram account. I just rushed back from my local No Kings to jump on this. Bottom line, would be helpful for all pro-No Kings folks to elevate the issue and help us get the word out about No Kings today. The Nerd Reich strikes again.

I've said it before, but a family of four that takes the subway to Manhattan pays $24 total *roundtrip.* Paying $12 — for just the way in, since there's no congestion fee to leave — to pilot your land yacht into the densest and most transit-rich city in the country is a bargain.

Thought we might get thru this season without this, but here we go - so weak: "On Thursday, Hochul also told Juliet Papa of 1010WINS that she was 'taking a look at' calling off the planned 2028 toll increase to $12" @nyc.streetsblog.org

noooooo this bill includes really strong new data center regulation provisions and it's going to massively cut net carbon emissions by allowing solar to connect to the grid at the pace we need

as you read the insane campaign fundraising numbers dropping today please recall that currently Elon Musk is personally responsible for about 1 in every 20 dollars spent on behalf of Republicans nationwide in 2026; I wouldn’t be surprised if when the dust settles that number is as high as 1 in 10
