This is so frustrating to read from The New Yorker. Reward hacking *long* predates LLMs. The Coast Runners paper on reward hacking (in reinforcement learning, pre-LLMs) is 10 years old! Reward hacking is not new, and not a sign of a breakthrough intelligence, much less sentience. Did AI write this?

Using lists of three is not an "AI tell." It's a common trait in human writing because our brains biologically want to make sure there's always one thing to marry, one thing to fuck, and one thing to murder.

This is crazy lol. I’m slipping a piece of paper with Chinese written on it under a door and someone inside is responding in Chinese with another slip of paper. Whoever’s in there must be a native level Chinese speaker! Well, guess I’ll stop thinking about it now

LLM boosters get so subtlety flustered when I continue to use the term LLM no matter how often the say “AI” in conversation. Won’t catch me letting Cloud Autocomplete pull a stolen valor on other fields.

I have a horn that costs $50 whenever I honk it. It also consumes physical resources exponentially! Sometimes, one of my honks will scare away birds who were eating my crops, or trick my Clapper into turning off the lights. This utility means I will be honking every day, at least 30 times an hour.

i am just so so so so so sick of reacting to things. it's like the entire internet now is just a machine for generating pure reaction, here's a Take, here's a Main Character, it's time to Contribute to the Discourse and draw Lines in the Sand between Good (me) and Evil (someone who's kinda annoying)

Well, it finally happened! After 9 years of Unity dominance, Godot was the most used game engine for GMTK Game Jam 2026 submissions. 🤖 Godot - 47% 🎮 Unity - 34% 🛠️GameMaker - 5% 🚀 Unreal Engine - 3% ✨ Other - 11%

Pie chart showing game engines used to create 10,511 GMTK Game Jam games in 2026. Godot has the largest slice with 47%. Then Unity with 34%. Other with 11%. Game Maker with 5%. And Unreal Engine with 3%.

these posts are literally *always* bait, but it’s extremely funny that *all* of them end up being like “after i have set aside my savings and have paid for all of my material needs, my wants, my preferences and my desires, i have nothing left” and it’s like, yeah, correct, that’s what happens

So you think earning $408,000 a year is a lot of money?
After working 50+ hours a week, being stressed out of your mind, and barely seeing your kids, it might not be the dream income you imagined.
Look how quickly the money goes. $1/month left over.
What would you cut?

why do people On Here keep trying to bully Andy Beshear into replacing a GOP senator who can't currently vote with one who can vote?
